All the wealth you can imagine is right in front of you. If you disagree, it’s time to change your psychology. When we think we don’t have access to limitless wealth, it’s because we’ve defined wealth by what we don’t have. But it’s just the opposite: Wealth is what you can already give. The problem with focusing on your own needs and wants is that it only goes so far. If you think about it, there are several people in this world who have more money than they could ever spend in their lifetime. And how much of it do they get to take with them when they die? Zero.
The only value that money has after they die is in how it’s distributed. That’s why most people in the world who are fabulously rich don’t just hoard it to themselves. They start charities, they invest in various enterprises, and they build things people can enjoy for years to come. It’s the only way they could possibly enjoy all that money while they’re still walking around on Earth.
When you focus on the needs of others, it has this way of motivating you to do more than you thought possible. You feel the benefits immediately. You become more productive. That’s because life supports that which improves the quality of life. If you have a business, you know one of the best ways to get customers in the door is to give away a free sample of your product. Assuming it’s a great product, people will be happy to return the favor by coming back to buy more of it and by telling their friends about how well you served their needs.
When we add value, we ultimately improve our own situation. Just as in business, you can add value in your personal life for your friends and family. It all starts with gratitude. You must appreciate what you have in order to share it with the world.
“It is not what we get but who we become, what we contribute, that gives meaning to our lives.” —Anthony Robbins
Why come home to a relationship where all you do is complain about what you don’t have? Your partner should be able to share with you, but that doesn’t mean sharing in your scarcity. Instead, let your relationships be about celebrating the wealth you’re both capable of giving — to each other and to the rest of the world.
When we contribute to our community, we also grow. That takes care of the spiritual needs. The needs of personality will naturally follow. How could your life be improved, and what can you give to make it better
1. Stop consuming caffeine
Although people think they perform better on caffeine, the truth is, they really don’t. Actually, we’ve become so dependent on caffeine that we use it to simply get back to our status-quo. When we’re off it, we underperform and become incapable.
Isn’t this absurd?
With healthy eating, sleeping, and exercise, your body will naturally produce far more and better energy than caffeine could ever provide. Give it up and see what happens. You will probably get withdrawal headaches. But after a few days, you’ll feel amazing.
2. Pray or meditate morning, mid-day, and night
In a recent interview at the Genius Network mastermind event, Joe Polish asked Tony Robbins what he does to get focused. “Do you meditate? What do you do?” Joe asked.
“I don’t know that I meditate. I don’t know that I want to meditate and think about nothing,” Tony responded, “My goal is clarity.”
Instead of full-on meditation, Tony has a morning routine that includes several breathing exercises and visualization techniques that get him to a state of clarity and focus. For me, I use prayer and pondering (my version of meditation) as the same vehicle.
Whatever your approach, the goal should be clarity and focus. What do you want to be about today?
What few things matter most during the next 24 hours?
I’ve gotten the best results as my morning prayer and meditation are motivational; my afternoon prayer and meditation are strategic; and my evening prayer and meditation are evaluative and educational.
3. Read 1 book per week
Ordinary people seek entertainment. Extraordinary people seek education and learning. It is common for the world’s most successful people to read at least one book per week. They are constantly learning.
I can easily get through one audiobook per week by just listening during my commute to school and while walking on campus. Taking even 15–30 minutes every morning to read uplifting and instructive information changes you. It puts you in the zone to perform at your highest.
Over a long enough period of time, you will have read hundreds of books. You’ll be knowledgeable on several topics. You’ll think and see the world differently. You’ll be able to make more connections between different topics.
Reference #19 on this list if you feel you’re “too busy” to read one book per week. There are methods to make this task extremely easy.
4. Write in your journal 5 minutes per day
This habit will change your life. Your journal will:
- Clear your emotions serving as your personal therapist
- Detail your personal history
- Enhance your creativity
- Ingrain and enhance your learning
- Help you get clarity on the future you want to create
- Accelerate your ability to manifest your goals
- Increase your gratitude
- Improve your writing skills
- Lots more…
Five minutes per day is more than enough. Greg McKeown, author ofEssentialism, recommends writing far less than you want to — only a few sentences or paragraphs at most. This will help you avoid burnout.
5. Marry your best friend
“For all the productivity and success advice I’ve read, shaped and marketed for dozens of authors in the last decade, I’ve never really seen someone come out and say: Find yourself a spouse who complements and supports you and makes you better.” — Ryan Holiday
Research done by economists have found — even after controlling for age, education, and other demographics — that married people make 10 to 50 percent more than single people.
Why would this be?
Being married gives you a higher purpose for being productive. You are no longer a lone ranger, but have another person who relies on you.
Marriage also smacks you in the face with what’s really important in life. Sure, hanging out and partying are fun. But too many people get stuck in this phase and miss the meaning that comes from building a life with someone.
You will never find a better personal development seminar or book than marriage. It will highlight all of your flaws and weaknesses, challenging you to become a better person than you ever thought possible.
6. Make a bucket list and actively knock items off
Most people have it backwards — they design their ambitions around their life, rather than designing their life around their ambitions.
What are the things you absolutely must do before you die?
Then design your life around those things. Or as Stephen Covey explained inThe 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, “Begin with the end clearly in mind.”
7. Stop consuming refined sugar
If you stop consuming sugar, your brain will radically change. Actually, study after study is showing that refined sugar is worse for our brains than it is for our waistlines. According to Dr. William Coda Martin, refined sugar is nothing more than poison because it has been depleted of its life forces, vitamins and minerals.
Again, like caffeine, if you stop eating refined sugar, you will experience some negative withdrawals. But, like any good habit, the effects of this will be seen in the long-run. What would your health be like a year from now (or five) if you were completely refined sugar-free?
8. Fast from all food and caloric beverages 24 hours once per week
One-day (24-hour) food fasts are a popular way to maintain health and vigor. Fasting leverages the self-healing properties of the human body. Radical health improvements occur when the digestive system is given rest and the organs get ample time to repair and heal themselves.
A regular practice of fasting can:
- Improve digestive efficiency
- Increase mental clarity
- Increase physical and mental vigor
- Remove toxins
- Improve vision
- Give a general feeling of well being
Like all the other habits, fasting gets easier with practice. I’ve been fasting for years and it’s one of the best things I have done for my health.
Fasting is also one of the most recognized techniques in religious and spiritual practices. I also use fasting to get spiritual clarity and refinement.
Honestly, I could go on for hours about this one. Give it a try. You’ll never be the same.
9. Fast from the internet 24 hours once per week
Your body gets an intervention when you fast. Your mind and relationships could use one too. Unplug yourself from the matrix.
If you haven’t caught on already, human beings are highly addictive creatures. We love our coffee, sugar, and internet. And these things are all great. But our lives can be far more enhanced by using these tools in wisdom.
The purpose of the internet fast is to reconnect to yourself and your loved ones. So, you probably shouldn’t do it the same day you do your food fast. Because eating is one of the strongest ways to form bonds.
You’ll be blown away by how much more connected you feel to your loved ones when you can give them your undivided attention. It may even feel awkward for a while having a real-life conversation without looking at your phone every three minutes.
10. Stop consuming the news or reading the newspaper
Although the amount of warfare and deaths by human hands are reducing globally, you will not get that message watching televised news or reading the newspaper.
On the contrary, these media outlets have an agenda. Their goal is to appeal to your fears by inflating extreme cases — making them seem normal and commonplace. If they didn’t do so, their viewership would plummet. Which is why Peter Diamandis, one of the world’s experts on entrepreneurship and the future of innovation has said, “I’ve stopped watching TV news. They couldn’t pay me enough money.”
You can get high quality news curated from Google news. When you detox from the toxic filth that is public news, you’ll be startled as your worldview becomes radically more optimistic. There is no objective reality. Instead, we live in perceived realities and are thus responsible for the worldview we adopt.
11. Do something everyday that terrifies you
“A person’s success in life can usually be measured by the number of uncomfortable conversations he or she is willing to have.” — Tim Ferriss
But you don’t have to constantly be battling your fears. Actually, Darren Hardy has said that you can be a coward 99.9305556% of the time (to be exact). You only need to be courageous for 20 seconds at a time.
Twenty seconds of fear is all you need. If you courageously confront fear for 20 seconds every single day, before you know it, you’ll be in a different socio-economic and social situation.
Make that call.
Ask that question.
Pitch that idea.
Post that video.
Whatever it is you feel you want to do–do it. The anticipation of the event is far more painful than the event itself. So just do it and end the inner-conflict.
In most cases, your fears are unfounded. As Seth Godin has explained, our comfort zone and our safety zone are not the same thing. It is completely safe to make an uncomfortable phone call. You are not going to die. Don’t equate the two. Recognize that most things outside your comfort zone are completely safe.
12. Do something kind for someone else daily
“Have I done any good in the world today? Have I helped anyone in need? Have I cheered up the sad and made someone feel glad? If not, I have failed indeed. Has anyone’s burden been lighter today, because I was willing to share? Have the sick and the weary been helped on their way? When they needed my help was I there?” — Will L. Thompson (music and text)
If we’re too busy to help other people, we’ve missed the mark. Taking the time to spontaneously — as well as planned — helping other people is one of the greatest joys in life. Helping others opens you up to new sides of yourself. It helps you connect deeper with those you help and humanity in general. It clarifies what really matters in life.
As Thomas Monson has said, “Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved.” That would truly be a failure.
13. Go to bed early and rise early
According to countless research studies, people who go to bed and rise early are better students. Harvard biologist Christoph Randler found that early sleep/risers are more proactive and are more likely to anticipate problemsand minimize them efficiently, which leads to being more successful in the business.
Other benefits of going to bed and rising early — backed by research — include:
- Being a better planner
- Being holistically healthier as individuals
- Getting better sleep
- More optimistic, satisfied, and conscientious
Waking up early allows you to proactively and consciously design your day. You can start with a morning routine that sets the tone for your whole day. You show self-respect by putting yourself first. In your morning routine, you can pray/meditate, exercise, listen to or read inspiring content, and write in your journal. This routine will give you a much stronger buzz than a cup of coffee.
14. Get 7+ hours of sleep each night
Let’s face it: sleep is just as important as eating and drinking water. Despite this, millions of people do not sleep enough and experience insane problems as a result.
The National Sleep Foundation (NSF) conducted surveys revealing that at least 40 million Americans suffer from more than 70 different sleep disorders; furthermore, 60 percent of adults, and 69 percent of children, experience one or more sleep problems a few nights or more during a week.
In addition, more than 40 percent of adults experience daytime sleepiness severe enough to interfere with their daily activities at least a few days each month — with 20 percent reporting problem sleepiness a few days a week or more.
On the flip side, getting a healthy amount of sleep is linked to:
- Increased memory
- Longer life
- Decreased inflammation
- Increased creativity
- Increased attention and focus
- Decreased fat and increased muscle mass with exercise
- Lower stress
- Decreased dependence on stimulants like caffeine
- Decreased risk of getting into accidents
- Decreased risk of depression
And tons more… Google it.
15. Replace warm showers with cold ones
Why would he do such a thing?
Cold water immersion radically facilitates physical and mental wellness. When practiced regularly, it provides long-lasting changes to your body’s immune, lymphatic, circulatory and digestive systems that improve the quality of your life. It can also increase weight-loss because it boosts your metabolism.
A 2007 research study found that taking cold showers routinely can help treat depression symptoms often more effectively than prescription medications. That’s because cold water triggers a wave of mood-boosting neurochemicals which make you feel happy.
To me, it increases my willpower and boosts my creativity and inspiration. While standing with the cold water hitting my back, I practice slowing my breathing and calming down. After I’ve chilled out, I feel super happy and inspired. Lots of ideas start flowing and I become way motivated to achieve my goals.
16. Say “No” to people, obligations, requests, and opportunities you’re not interested in from now on
“No more yes. It’s either HELL YEAH! or no.” — Derek Sivers
Your 20 seconds of daily courage will most consistently involve saying “no” to stuff that doesn’t really matter. But how could you possibly say “no” to certain opportunities if you don’t know what you want? You can’t. Like most people, you’ll be seduced by the best thing that comes around. Or, you’ll crumble under other people’s agendas.
But if you know what you want, you’ll have the courage and foresight to pass up even brilliant opportunities — because ultimately they are distractors from your vision. As Jim Collins said in Good to Great, “A ‘once-in-a-lifetime opportunity’ is irrelevant if it is the wrong opportunity.”
17. Say “Thank you” every time you’re served by someone
It’s amazing when you meet someone who is expressively and genuinely grateful. It’s amazing because, frankly, it’s rare.
I remember one day while working as a busser of a restaurant as a teenager. Every time I went by a certain table, whether I was refilling waters, bringing food, anything… the kid at the table (no more than 20 years old) graciously said “thank you.” I even heard him from close proximity saying it to all the other employees when they stopped by his table.
This experience had a dramatic impact on me. It was so simple what he was doing. Yet, so beautiful. I instantly loved this person and wanted to serve him even more.
I could tell by how he looked in my eyes when saying “thank you” that he meant it. It came from a place of gratitude and humility.
Interestingly, one study has found that saying “thank you,” facilitated a 66 percent increase in help offered by those serving. Although altruism is the goal, don’t be surprised as your habit of graciously saying “thank you” turns into even more to be thankful for.
18. Say “I love you” 3+ times a day to the most important people in your life
According to neuroscience research, the more you express love (like gratitude), the more other people feel love for you. Sadly, people are taught absurd mindsets about being vulnerable and loving in relationships. Just this morning, my wife and I had to coax and prod our three foster kids to say one nice thing about each other, and to say they loved each other.
It took several minutes for our 8 year old foster boy to muster the strength to say he loved his sister. Yet, all of our kids constantly berate and belittle each other.
You know the feeling: when you want to say “I love you” but hold back. What a horrible feeling.
Why do we hesitate to express our love?
Why do we hesitate to connect deeply with others?
This may be strange, but if you tell your friends and family you love them, they’ll be blown away. I once knew a Polynesian missionary who told everyone he loved them. It was clear he was sincere.
I asked him why he did it. What he told me changed my life. “When I tell people I love them, it not only changes them, but it changes me. Simply by saying the words, I feel more love for that person. I’ve been telling people all around me I love them. They feel treasured by me. Those who know me have come to expect it. When I forget to say it, they miss it.”
“The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone.” –Harriet Beecher Stowe
19. Consume 30 grams of protein within the first 30 minutes of waking up
Donald Layman, professor emeritus of nutrition at the University of Illinois, recommends consuming at least 30 grams of protein for breakfast. Similarly, Tim Ferriss, in his book, The 4-Hour Body, also recommends 30 grams of protein 30 minutes after waking up.
According to Tim, his father did this and lost 19 pounds in one month.
Protein-rich foods keep you full longer than other foods because they take longer to leave the stomach. Also, protein keeps blood-sugar levels steady, which prevents spikes in hunger.
Eating protein first decreases your white carbohydrate cravings. These are the types of carbs that get you fat. Think bagels, toast, and donuts.
Tim makes four recommendations for getting adequate protein in the morning:
- Eat at least 40% of your breakfast calories as protein
- Do it with two or three whole eggs (each egg has about 6g protein)
- If you don’t like eggs, use something like turkey bacon, organic pork bacon or sausage, or cottage cheese
- Or, you could always do a protein shake with water
For people who avoid dairy, meat, and eggs, there are several plant-based proteins. Legumes, greens, nuts, and seeds all are rich in protein.
20. Listen to audiobooks and podcasts on 2x speed, your brain will change faster
Listening to audiobooks at normal speed is so three years ago. There is a going trend — particularly in Silicon Valley — to listen to audiobooks at 150 or 200 percent called “speed listening.”
In 2010, the tech blog GigaOm suggested “speed-listening to podcasts” as an overall time-saving technique. Software called FasterAudio promises to “cut your audio learning time in half.”
If you want to get hardcore, a particularly useful tool is Overcast — a podcast-playback app with a feature called Smart Speed. Smart Speed isn’t about simply playing audio content at 150 or 200 percent of the standard rate; but actually attempts algorithmically to remove fluff (e.g., dead air, pauses between sentences, intros and outros) that bulks up the play time of audio content.
Use this technique and you’ll be consuming as much information as you once consumed caffeine.
21. Decide where you’ll be in five years and get there in two
“How can you achieve your 10 year plan in the next 6 months?” — Peter Thiel
There is always a faster way than you originally conceive. Actually, goal-setting can slow your progress and diminish your potential if you rely too heavily upon it.
In an interview with Success Magazine, Tim Ferriss said that he doesn’t have five or ten year goals. Instead, he works on “experiments” or projects for a 6–12 week period of time. If they do extremely well, the possible doors that could open are endless. Tim would rather play to the best possibilities than get stuck on one track. He says this approach allows him to go drastically farther than he could ever plan for.
22. Remove all non-essentials from your life (start with your closet)
“You cannot overestimate the unimportance of practically everything.” — Greg McKeown
Most of the possessions you own, you don’t use. Most of the clothes in your closet, you don’t wear. Get rid of them. They are sucking energy from your life. Also, they are dormant value waiting to be exchanged for dollars.
Getting rid of underutilized resources is like injecting motivation and clarity into your bloodstream. While all of that untapped energy gets removed, a new wave of positive energy comes into your life. You can use that energy in more useful and productive ways.
23. Consume a tablespoon of coconut oil once per day
Coconut oil is one of the healthiest foods on the planet.
Here are 7 reasons you should eat coconut oil every single day:
- It boosts HDL (good) cholesterol and simultaneously blocks LDL (bad) cholesterol buildup
- It has special fats that help you burn more fat, have more energy, and maintain healthy weight
- It fights aging and keeps you looking and feeling young
- It reduces fever and acts as an anti-inflammatory
- It is antibacterial and thus wards off possible illnesses
- It improves memory and cognitive functioning (even for people with Alzheimer’s)
- It can boost testosterone for men and balance healthy hormones level for both men and women
Coconut oil is a healthy alternative to caffeine. Eating a small amount will give you a shot of energy without the side-effects.
24. Buy a juicer and juice a few times per week
Juicing is an incredible way to get loads of vitamins and nutrients from fruits and vegetables. These nutrients can:
- Help protect against cardiovascular disease, cancer and various inflammatory diseases
- Guard against oxidative cellular damage from everyday cellular maintenance and exposure to chemicals and pollution.
There are several approaches you can take to juicing. You can reset your body by doing a 3–10 day juice “cleanse.” Or, you could simply incorporate juice into your regular diet. I do both from time to time.
I always feel enormously better after juicing. Especially when I get lots of intense greens like kale into my system.
25. Choose to have faith in something bigger than yourself, skepticism is easy
In the timeless book, Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill explains that a fundamental principle of wealth creation is having faith — which he defines as visualization and belief in the attainment of desire.
As he famously said, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.”
If you don’t believe in your dreams, the chances of them happening are slim to none. But if you can come to fully know the things you seek will occur, the universe will conspire to make it happen.
According to Hill (see page 49 of Think and Grow Rich), here’s how that works:
- “Faith is the starting point of all accumulation of riches!”
- “Faith is the basis of all ‘miracles’ and mysteries that cannot be analyzed by the rules of science!”
- “Faith is the element that transforms the ordinary vibration of thought, created by the finite mind of man, into the spiritual equivalent.”
- “Faith is the only agency through which the cosmic force of Infinite Intelligence can be harnessed and used.”
- “Faith is the element, the ‘chemical’ which, when mixed with prayer, gives one direct communication with Infinite Intelligence.”
Like expressing love, in our culture, many have become uncomfortable with ideas like faith. Yet, to all of the best business minds in recent history, faith was fundamental to their success.
26. Stop obsessing about the outcome
Research has found that expectations in one’s own ability serves as a better predictor of high performance than expectations about a specific outcome. In his book, The Personal MBA, Josh Kaufman explains that when setting goals, your locus of control should target what you can control (i.e., your efforts) instead of results you can’t control (e.g., whether you get the part).
Expect optimal performance from yourself and let the chips fall where they may. The organic output will be your highest quality work.
“Put most simply: Do what is right, let the consequence follow.”
27. Give at least one guilt-free hour to relaxation per day
In our quest for success, many of us have become workaholics. However, relaxation is crucial for success. It is akin to resting between sets at the gym. Without resting, your workout will be far less than it could have been.
Foolishly, people approach their lives like a workout without rest breaks. Instead, they take stimulants to keep themselves going longer and longer. But this isn’t sustainable or healthy. It’s also bad for productivity and creativity in the short and long run.
28. Genuinely apologize to people you’ve mistreated
People make mistakes several times every single day. Sadly — and hilariously — much of the time we act like kids and blame our mistakes on external factors. Research has found that people who don’t openly and often apologize experiencehigher levels of stress and anxiety.
You don’t need that pent-up energy in your life. Make amends and let it go. It’s not your choice if people choose to forgive you.
29. Make friends with five people who inspire you
“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” — Jim Rohn
Who you spend time with is incredibly important. Even more fundamental is: what types of people are you comfortable around?
Your comfort level is one of the clearest indicators of your character. Are the people you enjoy being around inspiring or degrading, hard-working or lazy?
What kinds of beliefs do you friends have?
What kinds of goals are they pursuing?
How much money do they make?
What does their health look like?
All of these things dramatically impact you. And it is one of the most painful experiences in the world to become uncomfortable around people who have long been your friends. When you grow and evolve and long for more, you’ll begin seeking a different crowd to surround yourself with.
Misery loves company. Don’t let them hold you back. Move on but never detach from the love you have for those people.
30. Save 10 percent or more of your income
“I would have saved 10 percent automatically from my paycheck by direct deposit into a savings account earning the best possible interest compounded daily. I would have also disciplined myself to deposit 10 percent of any additional money from gifts, refunds or other earned income. I would have bought a small house outright with the money I had saved (instead of renting an apartment for over 30 years). I would have found a job that I loved and devoted my life to it. At least you could be happy even if you were not where you wanted to be financially. Hope this helps someone out there.” — D. Lorinser
Tithing yourself is a core principle of wealth creation. Most people pay other people first. Most people live above their means.
In total, American consumers owe:
- $11.85 trillion in debt
- An increase of 1.4% from last year
- $918.5 billion in credit card debt
- $8.09 trillion in mortgages
- $1.19 trillion in student loans
- An increase of 5.9% from last year
The U.S. Census in 2010 reported that there were 234.56 million people over the age of 18 years old, suggesting the average adult owes $3,761 in revolving credit to lenders. Across the average household, American adults also owe $11,244 in student loans, $8,163 on their autos, and $70,322 on their mortgage.
Simply switching to home-brewed coffee will save you an average of $64.48 per month (or $2 per day) or $773.80 per year. By putting the savings into a mutual fund with average earnings of 6.5% interest and reinvesting the dividends into more mutual funds over a decade, the $64.48 saved every month would grow into $10,981.93.
31. Tithe or give 10 percent of your income away
“One gives freely, yet grows all the richer.” — Proverbs 11:24
Many of the wealthiest people in the world attribute their healthy financial life and abundance to giving some of it away.
Most people are trying to accumulate as much as they can. However, a natural principle of wealth creation is generosity. As Joe Polish has said, “The world gives to the givers and takes from the takers.”
From a spiritual perspective, everything we have is God’s (or the Earth’s). We are merely stewards over our possessions. When we die, we don’t take our money with us. So why hoard it?
As you give generously and wisely, you’ll be stunned by the increases in your earning potential. You’ll develop traits needed for radical wealth creation.
32. Drink 64–100 ounces of water per day
Human beings are mostly water. As we drink healthy amounts of water, we have smaller waistlines, healthier skin, and better functioning brains. Actually, as we drink enough water, it’s safe to say we’re better in every way.
It’s a no-brainer. If you’re not drinking the healthy amount of water each day, you should critically assess your priorities in life.
33. Buy a small place rather than rent
Unless you live in a big city (which many of you do), I’m baffled how many people pay outlandish amounts on rent each month.
When my wife and I moved to Clemson to begin graduate school, we did a lot of front end work to ensure we’d be able to buy a home. What’s shocking is that our mortgage payment is far less than most of our friend’s rent payments. By the end of our four years here in Clemson, we’ll have earned several thousand dollars in equity and even more in appreciation. Conversely, many of our friends are simply dumping hundreds of dollars into someone else’s pockets every month.
Paying rent is like working hourly. You get money while you’re on the clock. When you’re not on the clock, you get no money. Earning equity is like having residual income. Every month you pay down your mortgage, you actually keep that money. So you’re not “spending to live” like most people do. You’re living for free while saving — often earning in appreciation.
34. Check your email and social media at least 60–90 minutes after you wake up
Most people check their email and social media immediately upon waking up. This puts them in a reactive state for the remainder of the day. Instead of living life on their own terms, they’d rather respond to other people’s agendas.
Hence, the importance of having a solid morning routine. When you wake up and put yourself, not other people first, you position yourself to win before you ever begin playing.
“Private victory always precedes public victory.” –Stephen Covey
Make the first few hours of your morning about you, so that you can be the best you can for other people. My morning routine consists of prayer, journal writing, listening to audiobooks and podcasts while I workout, and taking a cold shower.
After I’ve had an epic morning, and I’m clear on the direction of my day, I can utilize email and social media for my benefit rather than detriment.
35. Make a few radical changes to your life each year
Reinvent yourself every year. Novelty is an antidote to monotony. Jump into new pursuits and relationships.
Try things you’ve never done before.
Have more fun.
Pursue big things you’ve been procrastinating for years.
In the past year, my wife and I went from having no kids to having three foster kids (ages 4, 6, and 8). I’ve started blogging. I quit my job and started writing full-time. I completely changed my diet. I’ve changed my entire daily routine.
Without question, this year has been the most transformative year of my life. It’s taught me that you can change your whole life in one year. I plan on changing my whole life for the better every year.
36. Define what wealth and happiness mean to you
“Be everything to everybody and you’ll be nothing for yourself.” — John Rushton
No two human beings are the same. So why should we have one standard of success? Seeking society’s standard of success is an endless rat-race. There will always be someone better than you. You’ll never have the time to doeverything.
Instead, you recognize that every decision has opportunity cost. When you choose one thing, you simultaneously don’t choose several others. And that’s okay. Actually, it’s beautiful because we get to choose our ultimate ideal. We must define success, wealth, and happiness in our own terms because if we don’t, society will for us — and we will always fall short. We’ll always be left wanting. We’ll always be stuck comparing ourselves and competing with other people. Our lives will be an endless race for the next best thing. We’ll never experience contentment.
Most people have an unhealthy relationship with money. It’s not necessarily their fault; it’s what they were taught.
In order to change your financial world, you need to alter your paradigm and feelings about money.
Here are some key beliefs the most successful people in the world have:
- In a free-market economy, anyone can make as much money as they want.
- Your background, highest level of education, or IQ is irrelevant when it comes to earning money.
- The bigger the problem you solve, the more money you make.
- Expect to make lots of money. Think BIG: $100,000, $500,000, or why not $1 million?
- What you focus on expands. If you believe in scarcity, you’ll have little.
- If you believe there is unlimited abundance, you’ll attract abundance.
- When you create incredible value for others, you have the right to make as much money as you want.
- You’re not going to be discovered, saved, or made rich by someone else. If you want to be successful, you have to build it yourself.
When you develop a healthy relationship, you will have more. You won’t spend money on the crap most people waste their money on. You’ll focus more on value than price.
38. Invest only in industries you are informed about
Warren Buffett doesn’t invest in technology because he doesn’t understand it. Instead, he invests in banking and insurance. He’s not a tech guy. He invests in what he understands.
Yet, so many people invest in things they don’t understand. I’ve made that mistake. I once invested several thousand dollars in an overseas rice distribution. Although the investment sounded incredible on paper, it’s turned out to be a disaster.
I didn’t have the understanding to make an informed decision. I put my trust in someone else’s hands. And no one cares about your success more than you do.
From now on, I’m going to responsibly invest in things I can make informed decisions on.
39. Create an automated income source that takes care of the fundamentals
We live in unprecedented times. It has never been easier to create automated income streams. No matter your skill-set and interests, you can put a business in place that runs 24/7 even while you’re sleeping, sitting on the beach, or playing with your kids.
An entrepreneur is someone who works for a few years like no one will so they can live the rest of their life like no one else can.
If you want to free up your time and energy for the things that matter most, either invest in stuff you’re informed on (e.g., real estate, businesses, mutual funds), or, create a business that doesn’t require you (e.g., create an online educational course about something you’re passionate about).
40. Have multiple income streams (the more the better)
Most people’s income comes from the same source. However, most wealthy people’s income comes from multiple sources. I know people with hundreds of income streams coming in each month.
What would happen if you set things up so you were getting income from 5 or 10 different places each month?
What if several of those were automated?
Again, with a few short years of intentional and focused work, you can have several income streams.
41. Track at least one habit/behavior you’re trying to improve
“When performance is measured, performance improves. When performance is measured and reported, the rate of improvement accelerates.” — Thomas Monson
Tracking is difficult. If you’ve tried it before, chances are, you quit within a few days.
Research has repeatedly found that when behavior is tracked and evaluated, it improves drastically.
It’s best to track only a few things. Maybe just one at a time.
If you want to track your diet, a fun approach is taking a picture of everything you eat. Everything. This allows you the time to determine if you really want to put that in your body.
So, your tracking can be creative. Do what works for you. Use a method you will actually do.
But start tracking. After you’ve made solid improvement on your desired area and formed new habits, start tracking something else.
42. Have no more than 3 items on your to-do list each day
When you shift your life from day-to-day reactivity to one of creation and purpose, your goals become a lot bigger. Consequently, your priority list becomes smaller. Instead of doing a million things poorly, the goal becomes to do a few things incredibly — or better yet, to do one thing better than anyone else in the world.
“If you have more than three priorities, then you don’t have any.” — Jim Collins
So, instead of trying to do a million small things, what one or two things would make the biggest impact?
Dan Sullivan, founder of Strategic Coach, explains that there are two economies: The Economy of Hard Work and The Economy of Results.
Some people think hard work is the recipe. Others think about the most efficient way to get a desired result.
Tim Ferriss, in his book, The 4-Hour Body, explains what he calls Minimum Effective Dose (MED), which is simply the smallest dose that will yield a desired result and anything past the MED is wasteful. Water boils at 100°C at standard air pressure — it is not “more boiled” if you add more heat.
What is the fastest way to get your desired outcome?
43. Make your bed first thing in the morning
According to psychological research, people who make their bed in the morning are happier and more successful than those who don’t. If that’s not enough, here’s more:
- 71 percent of bed makers consider themselves happy
- While 62 percent of non-bed-makers are unhappy
- Bed makers are also more likely to like their jobs, own a home, exercise regularly, and feel well rested
- Whereas non-bed-makers hate their jobs, rent apartments, avoid the gym, and wake up tired.
Something so simple. Yet, when you make your bed first thing in the morning, you knock-off your first accomplishment of the day. This puts you in a mindset of “winning.”
Do it! It only takes 30 seconds.
44. Make one audacious request per week (what do you have to lose?)
“Rainmakers generate revenue by making asks. They ask for donations. They ask for contracts. They ask for deals. They ask for opportunities. They ask to meet with leaders or speak to them over the phone. They ask for publicity. They come up with ideas and ask for a few minutes of your time to pitch it. They ask for help. Don’t let rainmaking deter you from your dream. It’s one of the barriers to entry, and you can overcome it. Once you taste the sweet victory of a positive response, you’ll not only become comfortable with it, you might even enjoy it. But making asks is the only way to bring your dream to life.” — Ben Arment
I got into graduate school way after applications were due because I asked.
I’ve gotten free NBA tickets by asking a few players I saw at a hotel.
I’ve gotten my work published on high tier outlets because I ask.
Very few things in life are just randomly given to you as an adult. In most cases, you need to earn it and/or ask for it.
Yet, there are many opportunities currently available to everyone if they would muster the courage and humility to ask.
The entire crowdfunding industry is based on making asks.
Start making bold and audacious asks. What’s the worst that could happen? They say “No”?
What’s the best that could happen?
When you don’t ask, you lose by default. And you’ll never know the opportunities you missed out on.
Don’t sell yourself short. Ask that beautiful girl on a date. Ask for that raise or big opportunity at work. Ask people to invest in your idea.
Put yourself out there. You’ll be blown away by what happens.
45. Be spontaneously generous with a stranger at least once per month
Life isn’t all about what you can achieve or acquire. It’s more about who you become and what you contribute.
Interestingly, research done at Yale has found that people are instinctively cooperative and generous. However, if you stall and think about being helpful or generous, you’re less likely to do it. And the longer you wait, the likelihood of you being helpful diminishes.
So, be spontaneous. When you get the wild thought of buying the person’s food in the car behind you, just do it. Don’t think about it.
If you’re driving down the road and see someone with car trouble off to the side, just do it. Don’t think about it.
When you want to say “I love you,” to a loved one, just do it. Don’t think about it.
Paralysis by analysis is dumb. And Malcolm Gladwell explains in Blink that snap-decisions are often far better than well-thought out ones.
46. Write and place a short, thoughtful note for someone once per day
The messages of handwritten letters impact deeper and are remembered longer than electronic messages. There is no comparison to this traditional form of conversation. Handwritten messages are so powerful that people often keep these notes for a long time. Sometimes a lifetime.
Jack Canfield has taught that writing 3–5 handwritten notes per day will change your relationships. In our email world, it can seem inefficient to hand-write and mail a letter. But relationships aren’t about efficiency.
Not only will handwriting letters change your relationships, it will change you.Research has shown that writing by hand increases brain development and cognition more than typing can.
Consequently, the things you write will be seared into your own memory as well, allowing both you and the recipient to reflect back on cherished moments.
Writing handwritten notes spices up your relationships, adding an element of fun. It’s exciting placing kind and loving notes in random places for your loved ones to find. Put a note under the windshield wipers of your loved one’s car to find after a hard day’s’ work. Hidden, wait til they come out and watch them from across the street. You’ll see their eyes light up and smile spread.
Other fun places include:
- In the fridge
- In the closet
- On the computer keyboard
- In their shoe
- In their wallet
- The mail box
Anywhere that makes the experience a surprise…
47. Become good friends with your parents
Many people have horrible relationships with their parents. I once did myself. Growing up can be tough and sometimes are parents make horrible decisions that negatively impact us.
However, my parents have become my best friends. They are my confidants. I turn to them for wisdom and advice. They understand me like no one else. Biology is a powerful thing.
Although I don’t see things the same way my parents do, I love them and respect their viewpoints. I love working out with my dad and talking about big ideas with my mom.
I couldn’t imagine not being close to them.
If your parents are still around, rekindle those ties or increase the flame. You’ll find enormous joy in those relationships.
48. Floss your teeth
About 50 percent of Americans claim to floss daily. My guess is that’s a large over-estimate. Either way, the benefits of flossing are incredible.
Doing so daily prevents gum disease and tooth loss. Everyone gets plaque, and it can only be removed by flossing or a deep cleaning from your dentist.Plaque buildup can lead to cavities, tooth decay, and gum disease. If left untreated, gum disease can be a risk factor for heart disease, diabetes, and a high body mass index.
Yes, not flossing can make you fat.
Not only that, but it greatly reduces bad breath.
49. Eat at least one meal with your family per day
If possible, eat a sit-down meal with your loved ones daily. It doesn’t matter if it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
We’ve become so high-paced in the world that everything we do is on the go. We’ve forgotten what it means to just be with our loved ones.
Eating together creates a sense of community like nothing else.
Teens who have fewer than three family dinners a week are 3.5 times more likely to have abused prescription drugs and to have used illegal drugs other than marijuana, three times more likely to have used marijuana, more than 2.5 times more likely to have smoked cigarettes, and 1.5 times more likely to have tried alcohol, according to the CASA report.
50. Spend time reflecting on your blessings at least once per day
Gratitude is the cure-all for all the world’s problems. It has been called, “the mother of all virtues,” by the Roman philosopher Cicero.
When you practice gratitude, your world changes. There is no objective reality. All people perceive reality as they selectively attend to things that are meaningful to them. Hence, some people notice the good while others notice the bad.
Gratitude is having an abundance mindset. When you think abundantly, the world is your oyster. There is limitless opportunity and possibility for you.
People are magnets. When you’re grateful for what you have, you will attract more of the positive and good. Gratitude is contagious. It changes not only your world, but everyone else’s you come in contact with.

“He who saves one man saves mankind”
My heart bleeds out into the lonely night, and only the yearning for daylight; only the memory of a better day gives me hope. I’m a healer. I work as a therapist, I counsel people, and I heal their wounds (mostly emotional, but also physical). I didn’t ever desire to do this. I tried to do many things, but never this… When it came on me though, I knew it was my calling. I’m passionate about it.
Healing is the simplest, most natural thing in the world. There are just 3 simple steps that you have to take to heal almost anything.
Of course, not everything can be healed; but most things that are thought incurable can be.
And these are the 3 steps:
1. Take responsibility for it.
Whatever the problem, it’s your problem. Own it. It’s yours. Not anyone else’s.
Even though you may have thought in the past that it was someone else’s fault.
Even if you wanted it to be someone else’s problem.
It isn’t. It wasn’t.It’s yours, and yours alone.
Imagine that this problem is (literally) in your hands. Hold it up before your eyes and look into it deeply. This belongs to you alone. You alone can let it go. But first, you must own it.
When you have taken responsibility you no longer blame others; and you no longer run away from the problem.
You know that you are responsible for your own change.
Quite often people call me and ask if I can help their partner / parent / friend. I have learnt to say ‘no’ in those situations. If that person had taken responsibility, they would be calling me themselves. If they haven’t taken responsibility, I can’t help them. Neither can you.
You cannot make people change.
2. Find the cause of the problem.
This is not so hard as it may seem, but it’s not as easy as step 3. It’s not as hard as step 1 though. Most people don’t make it past step 1. You should know that. If someone comes to me having taken step 1 (having taken responsibility for their problem) then I can almost always help them. And when they do come, I have the utmost respect – because I know what it takes to come to that point. It takes humility, and dignity, and courage. It takes being real. Most people don’t have that courage, and that’s why the world is in the state it is in…but more of that in a moment.
To find the cause of the problem, there is a very simple formula. Trace the problem (to use the analogy of a tree) to its roots. The topmost branches of the problem are in the head. The outermost symptoms are in the head (thoughts, beliefs, idea). The trunk of the problem is the heart (emotions). The roots are in the gut (deeper feelings of trauma, stress, fear, etc)… and the cause is a reaction to those deep feelings of trauma. The reaction is a survival instinct. Ask the question “how does this problem make me feel?” And then keep on asking that question until you come to the deepest feeling. Then ask yourself: “When I feel that deepest feeling, what do I want to do?”
The answer will be a survival instinct – almost all of our problems are rooted in our survival instincts.
There are exceptions to this rule – secondary gain is the most common one.
But if you clear the secondary gain (the process is almost identical to the one outlined above) then very often the problem falls away immediately.
3: Heal the cause.
This is so easy as to be almost ridiculous.
Yes, that’s right. Healing is easy.
Taking responsibility is hard. Finding the cause is a little tricky, but when you know how, it’s pretty easy too. But healing the root cause of almost all our problems (gut-based survival instincts) is a doddle.
The cause of the problem is a subconscious blockage. To be specific, the blockage is a subconscious association between safety / survival and an instinct (either fight, flight, or freeze).
So if the nature of the problem is that it is subconscious, we heal it by simply making it conscious.
You see, our essence is pure consciousness. Light.
The blockage is like a shadow.
In the same way that you can remove a shadow by simply throwing light on it, you heal the subconscious blockage by bringing the light of your awareness to it.
This is mindfulness in action, and the power of it cannot be overstated.
When I heal a client’s blockage, I bring us both into a state of presence (here and now), and we acknowledge the blockage.
Our combined awareness (the light) bearing down on the blockage (shadow) makes it simply disappear.
The blockage is like an uninvited guest. When he is discovered, he leaves promptly. He is in fact waiting to be discovered, and wants to leave. He has a guilty conscience. He doesn’t belong there.
What belongs there is pure consciousness. When the blockage is removed, pure consciousness flows through the space again naturally, spontaneously and joyfully.
***This is the most important thing in the world! There is no issue more urgent. Nothing is more worthy of your attention, time, and energy.
The world is in the state it’s in because mankind is motivated unconsciously by survival instincts. In one word: fear.
We behave the way we do as a species (war, abuse, greed, hypocrisy, corruption) not because we are innately bad. On the contrary, we are innately good – our essence is goodness, or God-ness (“made in the image of God”).
However, our innate goodness has been tainted by the very thing that makes us so intelligent. Our higher thinking. Somewhere along the line human beings forgot how to quickly and easily release trauma (wild animals do it naturally). We instead learnt to hold on to our trauma. And those instincts that helped us to survive the trauma stayed locked in place – permanently switched on.
So our lives became ruled by subconscious tendencies towards fighting (conquer, destroy, kill, argue, conflict, win, etc); flight (hide, run away, escape, remain passive, etc); and freezing (numbness, paralysis, stiffness, lock-down, tightening up, etc).
This is why you may be a highly evolved, spiritual person, but have health, emotional, or psychological problems. Because there is something in your subconscious that trips you up and interferes with your essential nature from expressing itself naturally.
It all comes down to survival instincts.
When enough of us heal these blockages, I am sure there will be peace on earth, because peacefulness is the natural inclination of life. War is an aberration, like murder.
Death, killing, sickness – these are not aberrations – they are natural and necessary aspects of life. But war, murder, corruption and abuse are the consequence of un-released and un-healed traumas. We have the tools to forge a new society, a new earth, a new humanity.
Healing ourselves is the ultimate environmental activism.
It is a political act.
It is an expression of Ahimsa (non-violence) and Satya (truthfulness) and compassion.
Let us heal ourselves and each other.
Let us heal the global heart that is bleeding and crying out for us to stop abusing ourselves.

We all have days where we feel a little… well… in a funk. But the good news is that, once you know a few simple tricks, it’s easy to shift your mood from drab to deliciously inspired in just 10 minutes or less.
Here are 5 simple things you can do to lift your spirits anytime, anyplace, anywhere:
TIP #1: Feed your ears with inspiration
Listening to energizing music is hands down the fastest, easiest way to elevate your mood.
Put on one or two of your favorite songs, and you’ll be surprised how quickly you start to feel more positive about yourself and your day!
One way to make sure your day starts off to a positive start is to get a musical alarm clock that wakes you up with your favorite uplifting songs.
Do a Google search for “musical alarm clock,” and you’ll find plenty of programs (some free, some you have to pay for) that you can easily set up to wake you up with music that you have stored on your computer or laptop.
Or, if you have a smart phone, do a search in the “apps store” on your phone and you’ll find plenty of apps that’ll work with the music you’ve got on your phone.
TIP #2: Invite positive people into your space
One of the best ways to pull yourself out of the doldrums is to spend a little time with someone who has an abundance of positive energy.
But if a close friend or family member isn’t nearby, here’s the next best thing…
Do a Google search for “inspirational videos” and you’ll bring up TONS of short videos of inspiring people sharing inspiring things that’ll feed your mind and spirit.
Watch one or two, and because you’re activating the learning centers of the brain, you’ll quickly experience a nice jolt of all-natural mental caffeine.
You can also check out TED.com for a great selection of free videos you can watch and feel inspired by.
TIP #3: Laugh it off
Laughter is one of the most effective antidotes for a heavy mood.
Laughing and smiling releases endorphins… the “happy hormones” produced in the brain that are widely regarded as nature’s cure for the blues.
Lucky for you, there are tons of comedians loading hilarious videos onto the Web that you can access in just seconds!
Feeling down? Take a few minutes and check out a couple of videos on YouTube or Funny or Die (the YouTube-style comedy website founded by comedian Will Ferrell) for some good side-splitting material that will send your endorphin levels through the roof.
TIP #4: Beautify your space
Eckhart Tolle writes that flowers are “ethereal messengers from the spiritual realm,” and that gazing at one reminds us of our Oneness with all life and that there’s peace in the present moment.
Even if you think that sounds a little far fetched, you can’t deny that everyone has a positive reaction to flowers!
So why not exercise a little self-love and treat yourself to a nice bouquet?
Put them in an area of your home or office where you can see them, and you’ll be surprised how a few delicate buds can lift your spirits.
TIP #5: Gain some perspective
If you’re feeling a bit down, it’s important to be gentle with yourself.
A lot of people who feel unhappy further reinforce this emotional state by feeling unhappy that they feel unhappy.
Instead of making yourself wrong for feeling a bit blah, remember that the up and down, ebb and flow of emotions is a part of the human experience.
Take a deep breath and tell yourself that this emotion too shall pass.
Giving yourself the freedom to experience how you feel can often be the key to releasing undesirable feelings so that you can move on to greener emotional pastures.
Make today a great one!
To your freedom,
Having one or more critical parents can put a sledgehammer through your childhood confidence and leave effects lasting long into adulthood.
But there is hope. Here’s how to recover from a critical parent: Understand That Criticism Is About Projection and Loneliness
Critical people are stuck in a perpetual vicious cycle of projection, pain, loneliness and disconnection. They’ve been hurt at some point in the past when they felt vulnerable and they’re still carrying this wound in their psyche. Often they’re afraid of facing the pain they feel around this and don’t know how to deal with the unpleasant emotions involved, or perhaps they aren’t even consciously aware of it. The criticism that pushes people away further prevents them from experiencing the deep connections with others that would reduce their loneliness and heal the very hurt they are avoiding by criticizing others.
Our criticisms and judgments of others are really just projections of our fear of being rejected so we turn the critical eye on another.
Parents can’t help but see themselves in their children, so when you started acting in ways that triggered your mother or father’s shame, hurt, sadness or loneliness they are likely to have felt their unhealed pain particularly deeply. So it’s not surprising that a critical parent’s most common victim is their own children.
The cycle of judgment, pain, criticism and loneliness works like this:
A critical person has some unhealed and often denied emotional wound from the past. The deepest wounds are about loneliness, rejection, abandonment, separation and disconnection.
The overwhelming pain from the unhealed wound is too much, so they deflect it with an internal judgment about the other person.
The judgment is projected outwards onto the other person as a criticism.
Criticism is painful and destroys the empathic connection with other people, causing the person encountering the criticism to either become defensive or to retreat and in some cases strike back. Criticism puts everyone on the defense and only increases your sense of loneliness when no one wants to be around you. Remember how you felt while it was happening to you is really the best remedy.
Defensiveness and retreating lead to further loneliness, rejection and abandonment of the critical person. This reinforces the pain of their original wound, further hurting and isolating them. Over time, criticism becomes their default defense against what feels like a hostile world.
People who criticize others have a fierce internal critic aimed right back at themselves too. When you understand that the parent who criticized you was actually hurting inside as a result of the way their judgments and criticisms shut down their own self-expression and isolated them from other people, you can start to feel more compassion towards them.
Realize: It was never about you !
Understand That The Criticism Was Never About You and Avoid doing what happened to you to others.
If a critical parent has wounded you deeply it’s helpful to remember that the criticism and the wounding were never really about you. It was always just a projection of something your parent hadn’t dealt with in themselves. No truly confident person will need to put another down especially their child unless they themselves have deep insecurity.
Express your real feelings
Learn To Express Your Feelings, it ok. Your parents are two people in the world. Others are quite different from one another, don’t miss out on the people that will support you.
One of the most damaging forms of childhood criticism is when we were criticized for how we feel. This is often seen with Saturn Aspect to the Moon. Our feelings represent our deepest experiences and if you encountered criticism when you expressed them as a child, you may have learned that it just wasn’t OK to express yourself, or even to be yourself. Shutting down your expression of feeling is the first step towards restricting who you are from showing up in the world.
Being able to express unpleasant emotions freely allows us to accept our experience of life and of ourselves much more deeply. It also frees us to feel the pleasant emotions more deeply including love, peace, happiness and joy.
The best way to express your true feelings is to be direct about them. Avoid passive-aggressive or indirect expressions of how you feel, don’t fear saying what you really feel. Don’t just assume that other people should know how you are feeling: You leave too much open to interpretation and usually that’s not good. Learn how to be direct and tell them: “I feel really hurt when you say that” or do not be afraid of getting in touch with your sensitive side, and be honest. If the person rejects you, you don’t want them anyway. You want real, so get with it.
It will not be a easy task but it is one that will change your life and your relationships for the better in a almost immediate fashion. Break the generational curse now, have you heard of them? Well this is yours, and you are to not pass on the behavior that you were shown. You will alienate yourself, and end up very lonely.
Begin with these simple steps
- Don’t Listen To The Critical Voice In Your Head it’s a nightmare from the past but you can now build your ideal future.
- Do not do what your hated the most, and criticize others because contrary to what you think, it appears weak, and insecure simply because it is negative. It will also make others not want to be around you and only feed your separation, and loneliness more.
- Forgive your Parents: This does not mean you need to forget, but a good way to get over it, is to feel sorry for them. Realizing that they are so insecure themselves that they needed to pick at their child. Chances are they suffered at the hands of their parents judgments, criticism or even worse. This is why it is so important to stop this behavior now. It will carry on into your future lineage. Stop the cycle.
- Reprogram your mind with daily positive affirmations, you must learn to think positive, and realize that you being critical of others or yourself only serves to undermine you.
- Let People in, don’t keep other people at a distance because you find faults with them when they get too close, or avoid intimate relationships because you discover things about people that you don’t like. Or you long for the world, the people in it and yourself to be perfect. All of these are symptoms of a critical nature inherited from a critical parent.
The first step towards dropping your own critical nature is to acknowledge it. Stop hiding the fact that you are critical and perfectionist towards yourself and other people. Start revealing your own dark side that you’re afraid people will reject you when they discover it. Quit pretending to be a righteous the more critical you are to others, the more they become of you. It never works.
Get emotional healing you need, however you need too. Start by empathizing with your parent, who is obviously suffering their own pain. See a psychiatrist is needed, they can help you release pent up frustration, hurt and anger. Whatever you do, do make a effort, for I assure you, your life is not fated to suffer, but if you do not make the unconscious Conscious, then chances are you will. Change your fate, by changing the way you think!
What is visualization and why is it important to your life?
Visualization is the practice in which a person intentionally focuses mental energy on a specific idea, image, or desired outcome for a prescribed amount of time. This is done for the purpose of sending the focused energy out into the quantum field where it can then synchronistically manifest into the life of the visualizer.
How does this work?
First let’s start with the physics perspective of a thought. A thought is a frequency, a vibration. It is ultimately a form with structure. The only reason that the average person cannot ‘see’ a thought wave is because it is too fine of a frequency and our range of vision, the perceptual capability of our eyes cannot pick up on it. This does not mean it is not real. A thought is a thing. Pull up the image in your mind’s eye of a plastic sandwich bag. It is translucent, right? When it’s only one bag, you can easily see through it. Ok now in your mind stack a few more plastic bags on top of that one. Still see through? Yes, but getting a little more opaque. Ok now put 5 more,…10 more…100 bags. Is this stack of bags translucent anymore? No. Why? This is because although it is thin and translucent, it does have structure and eventually, when bound together, the density accumulates and forms something more massive. This is a simple way of explaining how thoughts work in our dimensional reality. So, if you are visualizing, and you spend, say, 15minutes really honing in on one thought or idea and you add emotions to it, pictures, sounds, stories, you are literally building density and next thing you know you have created a real thought structure- a blueprint construction in the template reality. Now this part of your visualization practice is complete and you let it go, you send it out in the universe and allow the quantum field to do its work through synchronicity, allowing it to manifest unto you.
Are there problems with this design?
Well, no not technically. But practically, there are some issues for many of us. For me personally, to sit down every day and spend 15 minutes focusing my mind on just one thing can be extremely challenging. As many of us, I can at times really struggle with the monkey mind. The programmed incessant thought patterns, the distractions of the physical body, and so on. So the issue I am seeing is that we understand the value and importance of visualization, we desire to consciously steer our lives in the direction of our highest preference and joy, and we understand the mechanics of visualization, but in the reality of everyday life we may find it difficult to slow down, sit down, and tune in on one thing specifically for any amount of time.
I have been beating myself up about this for too long and I have realized that meditation practices are just like education. We are beginning to really understand that the major flaw of the public education system lies in its inability or refusal to cater to the individual needs and abilities of the students. Likewise, if each of us has a unique and different personality, life purpose, energy flow, etc., why would we all force ourselves to prescribe to the same type of meditation? When you think of meditation classically, you traditionally think of sitting in lotus silently and completely still with a blank mind. Yet this is only one type of meditation, it can take a very long time to master, and it may not work for everyone.
With these points in mind I have really been downloading some encouraging and empowering information about meditation and visualization practices that I think can really upgrade and revolutionize your spiritual practice in a way that feels lighter, more natural, more fun, more spontaneous, and more powerful.
It is of the UTMOST importance that when you are intentionally sending a message or request into the universe, that you FEEL good. Your state of being is the NUMBER ONE ingredient. So if your current style of visualization feels forced, frustrating, or boring, then THAT feeling is the energy you are sending out the universe! Below are some creative suggestions that have appeared to me as options and tools to put in your toolkit. This is not to say that traditional meditation isn’t powerful or that there are not many more possible ways. I hope that these empower you, inspire you, and help you get in the right state of being to vibrate yourself into the most joyful reality.
1. Visualize spontaneously
Sometimes if I sit down with the structured idea of ‘now I must visualize’ it flops and I am so focused on doing it right that I get very little done. Sound familiar? If so, try another approach. If you are around the house or out and about and your energy is flowing joyfully and naturally and something you see or a person you are interacting with really inspires you or puts you in a state of great joy, utilize THAT energy while it is naturally present. Once you are aware of that non-resistant state, milk it. Feel that energy fill you up, let it expand as big as it can and then let your thoughts create structures within that natural energy you are holding. That is the perfect time to start going through the story in your mind of how your life could creatively and beautifully unfold. Go big! Be totally imaginative. Remember that the universe speaks in frequency and vibration so if the image and the story you are using creates a wonderful feeling of fireworks within you, the universe if listening to that, and will magnify more of that frequency in your life.
2. Tell a story
As aforementioned, the physical mind has the tendency to wander off track, making focused visualization difficult to maintain. Hack the tendency of the physical mind by using language and telling a story. Writing or typing this story is even better. Ask yourself a question like “What does being rich feel like to me?” or “What would I do all day today if I could do ANYTHING I desire?” or “What does the highest expression of me look like, feel like, and act like?” Go journal about it, tell the story out loud to someone else, record yourself speaking it, or make it your status update, inspiring others to do the same. By sharing your vision with many people in your life or replicating it in any way, you are multiplying its broadcasting power. But don’t be connected to the specific story you are telling. As the days go by, the story may morph and grow and evolve. Remember again, it’s the feeling that matters rather than the specifics.
3. Flow with reality
What I mean is- do not FIGHT what is. If you really want to live in the tropics and you are stuck in Ohio, don’t use your current situation as the springboard for your visualization. You will transform nothing by resisting it. I use to try this, it fails utterly. There is no use in beating yourself up when you look around and feel that your current situation is not your desired situation. Acknowledge this, but understand that this may not be optimum moment to visualize your desires. In a moment like this, you may find yourself thinking, ‘I don’t want THIS! I want THAT!’ or ‘I would much rather have x manifestation rather than y’. But this is not coherent language to the universal intelligence. The quantum field does not differentiate the idea of wanting or not wanting, it just reads the feeling of WHATEVER you are talking about. In a moment like this, be gentle on yourself and move onto the next thing
you feel good about. Choose your next opportunity to visualize when you have a moment in which it naturally flows.
4. Life as visualization:
Every wise spiritual teacher from Abraham-Hicks to Bashar has repeatedly recommended one all-important practice of manifesting a joyous accelerated reality; Follow your excitement. This is visualization at its very best, in its most actualized form. When you ACT on the excitement you feel, you are threading those joyful visions of what you desire directly into your experiential reality. This is the completion of the circuit of the creative engine. You think of what you want, you feel it, then an opportunity is there for you to do something that makes you feel good, that feels natural, that feels exciting, and you do it. And it feels great. You are literally choosing, with your thoughts, actions, and emotions to embody the self you have been calling forth. In the rhythm of this creative circuit, it only expands more and more into the infinite joyful experience of you.
So there are four simple ideas that I am sharing with the intention that you will give yourself permission to joyfully focus yourself into your preferred state of being, and that you will thus see your vision and love reflected all around you. These are just a few ideas, so be creative. Notice that the emphasis is on your feelings and frequency. Whatever it is that gets you there, harness those moments of non-resistance to focus your intentions and plant the seeds of your joy.

Every human being is amazing; made of star dust, the living culmination of a genetic lineage that fades into long forgotten time.
Our ancestors crawled from a pond, evolved into numerous forms, and you are who you are today because the cosmos created each of us through an incredible mystery of gestation.
To be alive is to be epic—here are some tips to recognize and unleash the epicness within.
1. Believe in yourself.
Yes. You can do that—and anything else your heart guides you to do.
2. Embody your Soul. Act Now.
We can do more than get laid, be pretty, earn money or make a name for ourselves. You could cure cancer. You might be the next Leonardo Da Vinci, or Nikola Tesla. Your very thoughts, if written and shared, could change the course of humanity. You can do that, and more than you can imagine. Embody the dreams your heart whispers in the night.
3. Share your soul.
Knowledge is common. So are words. But your soul, its unique in all of the universe. It’s one of a kind. The pure special place of who you are is completely one-of-a-kind. When we express and share that pure essence of Self, a fire of hope is ignited in all around you. Be the light of hope and inspiration, and the world is changed.
4. Stop Seeking, Start Being.
Life is the greatest gift, and rather than trying to figure out what life is about, live that life … to its fullest. Carpe diem, in service to family, tribe and the world. Who you are is the most precious gift possible, and you don’t have to find you. You already are you. When in doubt, see Epic tip #1.
5. Value your Death.
It’s going to happen. Your body will die. Stop screwing around and take responsibility for the air you breath and water you drink. Respect your ancestors and the infinite amount of time that has passed to make the very unique you that you are. Act now, because your time is already up.
6. Respect Life.
Every living thing is alive and has the right to live. Whether a human, or a tree. Life is not a resource, it is a gift. In loving and valuing that gift, all possibility opens.
7. Have integrity.
Don’t waste the precious time given to others. Speak authentically. Be vulnerable. Share wisdom. Move on, move on, time is scarce. The worst that can happen is death. Integrity is power, and power can shake the foundations of the universe.
8. Be Courageous.
Time is the most precious resource. Death claims all before any are ready. Be yourself, now. Stop seeking, now. Act, now. Death may happen at any moment, even now. Your gifts are needed, now. Fear isn’t even worth fearing. Offer your soul in service to life, and become immortal. And Epic.
Life is a journey, and the best way to approach life is to be equipped for the journey. In getting ourselves armed for this journey, one question we need to constantly ask ourselves is-What do I need to do to be successful in this journey. The truth is that there is no easy answer. In this issue we will take a look at 10 things that John Maxwell identified as the most important lessons we need to know. Here they are.
Your greatest victory
There is a lot of competition in life; and the most competitive tend to make the most progress and occupy the seats of power, fame and wealth. In competition we have to subjugate others. We literally have to conquer our competitors on the sports fields and in business. However, your greatest victory in this life will always be over yourself. There is no one who poses a greater threat to your goals than you. Plato was spot on when he wrote “the first and best victory is to conquer self.”
Confidence is the most important asset
Confidence in oneself is the cornerstone upon which all success is built. It takes confidence in oneself to initiate bold actions; to stand up for one’s potential and to pursue one’s dreams. Self-confidence breeds confidence in others.
Final responsibility is the most important weight you will ever bear.
There are many variables that will influence the way things go in life. You can never control them all; just as the farmer cannot control the weather. Each of these variables can serve as a potential excuse or even good explanation for your failure to achieve what you ought to achieve in life. People may even let you down or circumstances may conspire against you. You must decide in advance that your life is yours to lead; and the final responsibility is yours to bear. Whatever happens to you in this life the responsibility is yours. You are personally responsible for the success and the failures as well.
The most important habit -taking time to think
There are many good habits that we must learn and employ as our servants as we seek to become something or someone of note. However, there is one habit that breeds all other habits. Our lives today are a result of our thinking yesterday, and our lives tomorrow will be determined by what we think today. If we desire to rise above our circumstances and to move up to another level in our careers, then we need to improve our thinking. It is important to learn the habit of deliberately setting aside quality time to think. Change your thinking and you will change your results.
Pride is the worst weakness you will ever have
Pride gives people an overinflated sense of their own importance and causes them to devalue the contribution of others. Pride causes people to gloss over their fallibility, over exaggerates their sense of invulnerability. Pride never wins friends but alienates potential allies.
The only available opportunity is today
We all have some regrets of what we could have done that we did not do. There is no man without a tale of missed opportunities. We also have opportunities that we wish will come our way in the future. The most important opportunity and the only one that is available is today. Seize today’s opportunity and today you will make progress. Our strength lies in the present.
The most precious possession you will ever lose is hope
We have all lost something or someone very important and dear to us. However, our greatest loss will always be hope. When you lose hope you risk losing it all; including losing your very self. The idea that something good is around the corner gives us infinite strength. Hope is a power that keeps us going in the toughest times of life. It’s a power that energises us with excitement and anticipation as we look forward to the future.
Life’s greatest mistake – putting self before others.
Habitual self-absorption is a certain path to failure and frustration. People have needs just as you have needs.Their needs are just as important; at least in their eyes. Daily we are tempted to use other people to get to our destinations. What you receive from people will never be as important as what you give out to them because it is what you give out or invest in them that will determine how valuable they will be to you.Success is determined by the seeds we sow in people, not by the harvest we reap. Never seek to cash in on your relationships, but rather seek to add value. Do not seek the “pay-back” time but seek to invest even more. The rewards will come without you calling for them.
Wisdom is your greatest need
We all can do with a bit more money, a few more opportunities and more support. However, your greatest need will always be wisdom. Money answers most questions, but whether you have lots of it or just a little you will always need wisdom to spend it well. In life you will face unfamiliar situations and be forced to make decisions under conditions of extreme uncertainty. In these moments wisdom will put you in good stead. Lifelong learners have an edge over the competition any day. Make it a habit to constantly acquire new skills, insights and knowledge.
Life’s greatest joy is bringing the best out of others.
Marriage may be the most blissful thing; while victory may be the sweetest to the soul and achievement gives us all satisfaction. All these are good. However, trophies eventually collect dust and sooner or later we must vacate positions of influence. What truly lasts is the graffiti that we etch into the lives around us. What brings the greatest joy and satisfaction is enriching the lives of those we love by adding value to them.
Earlier in my career as a research scientist and medical school professor, I actively supported the perspective that the human body was a “biochemical machine programmed’ by its genes. We scientists believed that our strengths, such as artistic or intellectual abilities, and our weaknesses, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer or depression, represented traits that were preprogrammed into our genes.
Hence I perceived life’s attributes and deficits, as well as our health and our frailties as merely a reflection of our heredity expression. Earlier in my career as a research scientist and medical school professor, I actively supported the perspective that the human body was a “biochemical machine programmed by its genes.
We scientists believed that our strengths, such as artistic or intellectual abilities, and our weaknesses, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer or depression, represented traits that were preprogrammed into our genes. Hence I perceived lifes attributes and deficits, as well as our health and our frailties as merely a reflection of our heredity expression. Until recently, it was thought that genes were self-actualizingthat genes could turn themselves on and off.
Such behavior is required in order for genes to control biology. Though the power of genes is still emphasized in current biology courses and textbooks, a radically new understanding has emerged at the leading edge of cell science. It is now recognized that the environment, and more specifically, our perception (interpretation)of the environment, directly controls the activity of our genes. Environment controls gene activity through a process known as epigenetic control. This new perspective of human biology does not view the body as just a mechanical device, but rather incorporates the role of a mind and spirit.
This breakthrough in biology is fundamental in all healing for it recognizes that when we change our perception or beliefs we send totally different messages to our cells and reprogram their expression.
The new-biology reveals why people can have spontaneous remissions or recover from injuries deemed to be permanent disabilities. The functional units of life are the individual cells that comprise our bodies. Though every cell is innately intelligent and can survive on its own when removed from the body, in the body, each cell foregoes its individuality and becomes a member of a multicellular community. The body really represents the cooperative effort of a community of perhaps fifty trillion single cells. By definition, a community is an organization of individuals committed to supporting a shared vision.
Consequently, while every cell is a free-living entity, the bodys community accommodates the wishes and intents of its central voice, a character we perceive as the mind and spirit.
When the mind perceives that the environment is safe and supportive, the cells are preoccupied with the growth and maintenance of the body. In stressful situations, cells forego their normal growth functions and adopt a defensive protection posture.
The bodys energy resources normally used to sustain growth are diverted to systems that provide protection during periods of stress. Simply, growth processes are restricted or suspended in a stressed system. While our systems can accommodate periods of acute (brief) stress, prolonged or chronic stress is debilitating for its energy demands interfere with the required maintenance of the body, and as a consequence, leads to dysfunction and disease.
The principle source of stress is the systems central voice, the mind. The mind is like the driver of a vehicle. With good driving skills, a vehicle can be maintained and provide good performance throughout its life. Bad driving skills generate most of the wrecks that litter the roadside or are stacked in junkyards. If we employ good driving skills in managing our behaviors and dealing with our emotions, then we should anticipate a long, happy and productive life. In contrast, inappropriate behaviors and dysfunctional emotional management, like a bad driver, stress the
cellular vehicle, interfering with its performance and provoking a breakdown.
Are you a good driver or a bad driver? Before you answer that question, realize that there are two separate minds that create the bodys controlling central voice. The (self)conscious mind is the thinking you, it is the creative mind that expresses free-will. Its supporting partner is the subconscious mind, a super computer loaded with a database of programmed behaviors.
Some programs are derived from genetics, these are our instincts and they represent nature. However, the vast majority of the subconscious programs are acquired through our developmental learning experiences, they represent nurture.
The subconscious mind is not a seat of reasoning or creative consciousness, it is strictly a stimulus-response device. When an environmental signal is perceived, the subconscious mind reflexively activates a previously stored behavioral responseno thinking required. The subconscious mind is a programmable autopilot that can navigate the vehicle without the observation or awareness of the pilotthe conscious mind.
When the subconscious autopilot is controlling behavior, consciousness is free to dream into the future or review the past. The dual-mind systems effectiveness is defined by the quality of the programs carried in the subconscious mind. Essentially, the person who taught you to drive molds your driving skills. For example, if you were taught to drive with one foot on the gas and the other on the brake, no matter how many vehicles you owned, each will inevitably express premature brake and engine failure. Similarly, if our subconscious mind is programmed with inappropriate behavioral responses to lifes experiences, then our sub-optimum driving skills will contribute to a life of crash and burn experiences.
For example, cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death, is directly attributable to behavioral programs that mismanage the bodys response to stress. Are you a good driver or a bad driver? The answer is difficult for in our conscious creative mind we may consider ourselves as good drivers, however self-sabotaging or limiting behavioral programs in our subconscious unobservedly undermine our efforts. We are generally consciously unaware of our fundamental perceptions or beliefs about life. The reason is that the prenatal and neonatal brain is predominately operating in delta and theta EEG frequencies through the first six years of our lives.
This low level of brain activity is referred to as the hypnogogic state. While in this hypnotic trance, a child does not have to be actively coached by its parents for they obtain their behavioral programs simply by observing their parents, siblings, peers and teachers. Did your early developmental experiences provide you with good models of behavior to use in the unfoldment of your own life? During the first six years of life a child unconsciously acquires the behavioral repertoire needed to become a functional member of society. In addition, a childs subconscious mind also downloads beliefs relating to self.
When a parent tells a young child it is stupid, undeserving or any other negative trait, this too is downloaded as a fact into the youngsters subconscious mind. These acquired beliefs constitute the central voice that controls the fate of the bodys cellular community. While the conscious mind may hold ones self in high regard, the more powerful unconscious mind may simultaneously engage in self-destructive behavior. The insidious part of the autopilot mechanism is that subconscious behaviors are programmed to engage without the control of, or the observation by, the conscious self. Since most of our behaviors are under the control of the subconscious mind, we rarely observe them or much less know that they are even engaged. While your conscious mind perceives you are a good driver, the unconscious mind that has its hands on the wheel most of the time, may be driving you down the road to ruin.
We have been led to believe that by using will power, we can override the negative programs of our subconscious mind. Unfortunately, to do that, you really have to emphasize the word power, for one must keep a constant vigil on ones own behavior. The moment you lapse in consciousness, the subconscious mind will automatically engage and play its previously recorded experience-based programs.
The subconscious mind is really a tape player. There is no observing entity in the subconscious mind reviewing the behavioral tapes. Consequently, there is no discernment as to whether a subconscious behavioral program is good or badthey are just tapes. The subconscious is strictly a playback machine, perceived stimuli engage preprogrammed behaviors. In fact, people upon seeing their own subconscious programs play out frequently say something like, That guy just pushed my buttons!
In contrast to the power of the conscious mind, the subconscious mind is a million times more powerful an information processor. Also, as neuroscientists emphasize, the conscious mind provides 5% or less of the cognitive activity during the day. Ninety-five to ninety-nine percent of our behavior is directly derived from the subconscious. Hence the use of the word power in the concept of will power, it takes significant effort for the conscious mind to keep tabs on the subconscious behavior. Positive thinking is primarily effective if the subconscious supports the conscious intention.
The problem with trying to reprogram the subconscious is that we fail to realize it is playing behavioral tapes. To understand why conscious awareness does not readily change subconscious programs, consider this instructive analogy: I provide you with a cassette tape and you put it into your player and push the play button. As the tape plays the program, you realize that you do not like it. So, you yell at the tape player to change the program, you ask it to play something different.
After awhile of not getting a response, you yell louder and get angrier at the tape player because of the lack of a response to your request. Then when it seems hopeless, you beseech God to help you change the program. The point is simple, no matter how much you yell at the tape player it will not change the program. To change a tape, you have to push the record button and then rerecord the program incorporating the desired changes.
There are two ways out of the problem. Firstly, we can become more conscious, and rely less on automated subconscious programs. By being fully conscious, we become the masters of our fates rather than the victims of our programs.
This path is similar to Buddhist mindfulness. Secondly, we can use a variety of new energy psychology modalities that enable a rapid and profound reprogramming of limiting subconscious beliefs. These new energy modalities provide the ability to rewrite limiting perceptions (beliefs) and self-sabotaging behaviors using processes that are mechanistically similar to pushing the record program on the subconscious minds tape player.
With conscious awareness, one can actively transform the character of their lives into ones filled with love, health and prosperity. The use of these new modalities provides a key to personal growth and transformation. A variety of energy psychology modalities, such as Psych-K, Holographic Repatterning and BodyTalk, are among the variety of programs that can be found on the web.

At this time there is nothing else that really matters. To discover your love. This is imperative if you want to feel the freedom you so seek. This is not a matter of finding love around the corner, or in someone´s arms, but to discover that it resides in your own heart, and that it always has.
This love is why you came here. To find it, experience it and share it. That is your purpose. The love is unconditional, it is un-stoppable, it is, ultimately, undeniable. But it is the most challenging quest that you will ever embark upon – especially in your world.
The game as it has been orchestrated has drawn your attention to innumerable distractions – other objectives that seem to be paramount. But this is not the case. The foundation of all activity in this cosmos is based on love. It is the prime ingredient to be assured that what you create is in alignment with the One´s design.
Discovering this can be one of the most elusive tasks that you might take on. Living as a human being on the Earth at this time in your history is leading to “the great rub”. This is the point where it becomes an either or choice for acting from a place of unconditional love, or something else. The something else(s) have increased in so many forms and so much intensity of energy as to be especially distracting.
Your world speaks of love more than any single idea. Yet your understanding of its true nature is so misunderstood.
It is really the most simplest, and actually the only truth in your world. It is at the bottom, and behind all of the experiences that you are orchestrating and so distracted with the details. The experiences are all accessories to the point. And the point is love. Can´t you see that all of this creative wonder that you observe in your external perceptions is the result of love? And you will step beyond the production of material trinkets when you discover that the love power you are so yearning to express exists in the core of your being. When you discover this love you will realize that there is nothing to “own” or “possess” or to hold onto because what you so yearn for is the makeup of your actual being. It is what is holding all of the molecules of your body together. It is what is containing all of the information in your DNA and blood. The thoughts that you have are supported, contained within the love matrix, the One´s thoughts. But you are a thought filled being and have the same capacities.
But your task in this life is to discover, not the One´s love, or someone else´s love, but your love. Go to that place inside yourself and discover the spark of the love that created you. That you are to share – that is your purpose. That is the One´s purpose for you. That is why you stepped into this existence.
You have been clear on this idea for longer than you could ever imagine, before you came into this form. But the veil, the curtain had to be heavy in order for us to discover some new characteristics of this thing that we share in all points and waves across infinity.
You have been a wonderful agent in this life, investigating distractions, diversions, untruths of how love might express itself – “I will love you if”, “share your love if you get paid”, “looking for love in all the wrong places”. My what an adventure you have created.
But the time has come for you to get down to business. Enter your own heart and find the spark, that WE put there. Yes, you were a designer of this system too. You were the architect, as was Eye. But you had primary input. You had the experiences in the realms of love across the cosmos and instructed us in the design of this new adventure space called “Earth” and the universe. But you have been pulled from the core of its knowing – this is evidenced by the state of your world. You have forgotten your truth birth mother, Gaia, and you abuse those around you with the distractions of what you think are obligations you believe are a result of love – obligations that have been placed on you in the game that you are playing.
If you would have been informed as a baby about the task of finding your own divine spark to then share this with the world, you would have found a very different experience. But we had a purpose for it to play out in this exact way. But now, now my dear comrades, associates, partners, MY BEING, the time is quickly approaching for the quickening. I am sure you feel it. Don´t you feel kind of crazy? Do you feel time passing quickly? That is the true quickening. It is love beckoning. And the only place you will find peace of mind, is discovering your true nature and that that power to transform the entire cosmos in the “twinkle of an eye” resides at the center of your being.
Now how you experience or find this spark can be as varied as you see yourselves as beings. There are some pointers. One possibility is to find another soul who vibrates, or resonates on an energetic level and begin to immerse yourself into an investigation of this love. Invite that other person to find their love. Invite yourself to examine what it is that makes you tick – what inspires, how do you really feel about the people in your life that you love. This is not about the “stories” and dramas and traumas that are playing out in yours or their lives, but the core of the connection to them. This may require some effort to get past the surface experience which you are lost in on a day to day basis. This requires a sense of deep meditation, but not necessarily in the image you have been given, such in a sitting lotus posture. You can examine your heart in all moments. While you walk, while you lay, as you gaze into a child´s eyes. As you look in the mirror at yourself. As you write, or listen to a song. The sources, or access points, to the love in your own heart are as innumerable as the moments in your day. But, you must dedicate your conscious attention to them. You must reflect on them.
Many of you find yourselves pulled away in the stream of external life. But this is not the external world´s fault. This is an expression of where you are in yourself. If you are struggling and finding yourself overwhelmed, in any area of your life, it is love´s invitation to take a look.
It is you that is saying – is this what you want? Love is so close and inviting you to examine what you want to create. It is inviting you go to your love and have it show you the way to your own joy, your own “master plan” – which you designed and imprinted, with love, into the core of your very makeup. Physically it is easiest to find this if you work with your heart area. That is where this expression is most powerfully emanating moment to moment as your heart beats and cascades the essence of your love through your blood throughout your body. There is a cosmic, and eternal energy pulse with our Divine signature that the entire cosmos is waiting for you to find, key into, and then express the results as this program turns on and takes over your existence. When this event occurs there will be no turning back, and you will begin to reveal to yourself the true nature of your cosmic being. Showing yourself, via your own unique love quotient, the path that you had laid down for yourself eons ago, in fact in many respects back to the moment your soul was conceived in the beginning from my Divine Love blueprint.
This experience will reveal to you just how spectacular you are, and thusly, as only the love model allows, you will begin to see the divinity of all that exists. All of this was created for this knowing, but the fact could not be fully appreciated until there was a thorough and complete forgetting. As you likely have discovered in your human form, we often take for granted that which is given to us without effort. Thus, this is not a unique experience to humanity on Earth, and this is specifically why we decided to create this world – and it has been the most phenomenal success!!!!
You, my dear ones, have ventured into the depths of new experiences that were not imagined before this. And the cosmic consciousness will be able to process and include each and every experience into the collective. And now your rewards for your dedicated service is to be granted, but there is one last effort that you must do. Find your heart. Find your Love. Experience it. Go to it. Embrace it. Allow it to embrace you. It is all-ready, you must know, but bring this experience into your conscious mind. FEEL IT – do whatever you must to experience this truth of who and what you are, because if you don´t, you will continue with the same results you are experiencing.
I emplore you to give this your utmost consideration and dedication. Because you will be astounded to find out that this thing, that you have been yearning and searching for, you have been dancing and singing for, you have been suffering and crying for, is embedded into the fabric of your being down to the most minute level. It is who you are, and nothing less. It is your DNA, it is your bodily parts, it is the functions, it is the Being that you are, and it is closer than anything else. But your consciousness must entertain it. You must open a doorway to it, because if you don´t you will remain locked in the prison of your perceptions, your beliefs, your thoughts and your habits. Those, dear one, are not you. None of those things – and you will be overjoyed to discover the truth of what is being shared with you.
This process, will have its way with you no matter what. The difference will be, do you want to experience it now, in this body where you believe you reside, in this stage of your life. Do you want to share the most astoundingly beautiful gifts with all those you “believed” that you “love and cherish”? Do you want to experience this? This is your most important assignment. This is why you agreed to come to this sphere of existence. This is why you were made, and why you made yourself. And, the time has come to find this truth within your being and Share it.
Be happy. Because you are so beautiful. Drop all beliefs about your experiences, ideas you have been given, and give yourself a chance to experience the pure essence of the love that you are truly made of.
All of these things that you are afraid to face about yourself is what you have contributed to the cosmic database of experiences. It is very important. But there is no meaning in it any longer, as the time has come for the great reckoning, beckoning, love inviting you home to yourself. Because, in the end this is what you have been looking for. You are your own answer. Your own destination. Your own love source, that once found will be shared with every other being across creation – and it will be there forever, for that is the nature of how love works. It is pure, kind, gracious, patient, powerful and any other positive attributes that you might use. But more importantly, it is yours. You have never been without it. There was no need to fear. But to appreciate what has been going on, or how great this thing is, you had to know what it would be like for the “possibility” for love not to be cascading in infinite abundance over your soul and being. You had to experience this, for the ONE. It has been necessary for this, and you have done GOOD!
According to the National Sleep Foundation the average person requires 7-10 hours of sleep per night. But is it possible that using different sleep cycles, where the benefits of sleep are still achieved, we can sleep less? Much less? Most of us are familiar with what is called a monophasic sleep cycle. This cycle is used by most people as it’s what we hear about and learn the most. For some, this cycle is practical although inefficient.
Fact is, there are 4 other sleep cycles that can provide all the benefits of sleep, while sleeping much less. For me, this is good news as I am not a huge fan of sleeping for long periods of time. Why? Generally there are better things to do! Not only that but sleeping has always been something I wish I could do when I felt like it and not because I’m ‘supposed to.’ if I could spend less time lying awake at night trying to sleep, then great. So let’s learn about polyphasic sleep cycles! Unlike monophasic, where you sleep once a day, polyphasic cycles utilize multiple naps. The Monophasic cycle consists of various stages of sleep with REM (rapid eye movement) being the most important. A person using a monophasic cycle might go to bed at night (around 11PM), sleep for 7 – 10 hours and then wake up in the morning. Of course if one worked a night shift, timing would be swapped. Generally, it takes the body about 45 – 75 minutes to get into REM sleep which is the cycle responsible for various brain and bodily functions that are beneficial to health. Although scientists don’t understand exactly why we need sleep, it has been recognized, while observing animals, that sleep is needed for survival.
The Byphasic cycle, also called the Siesta, is the most common of polyphasic cycles as it can be viewed as the most practical for people. This cycle consists of one 5 – 6 hour sleep and one 20, 60 or 90 minute nap per day. Total sleep time is around 5.3 – 10 hours per day. In regards to health, compared to the monophasic cycle, there is now enough scientific research to show that this cycle is not only better for your health but can also lead to better moods, a decrease in stress, an increase in your ability to be altert as well as overall productivity. Some research even states this cycle can make you smarter!
The Everyman cycle, first named by Puredoxyk, is a sleep schedule consisting of one 3.5 hour core sleep and 3 x 20 minute naps spread out over the day. The cycle is designed to counteract the natural drops in our alertness as dictated by our Circadian and Ultradian rhythms. A sample schedule commonly used with this cycle is sleeping 9 – 12:30am, a 4:10am nap, an 8:10am nap, and a 2:40pm nap. Avoid having a morning core sleep (3am – 6:30am) as during these times it is unlikely you will get quality slow wave sleep because your temporary circadian REM pressure is high.
The Dymaxion cycle is said to be the most difficult as it can only be successfully used by certain people. Those with the DEC2 gene, also called ‘short sleepers,’ generally only require about 4 hours of monophasic sleep, which makes this cycle possible for them. This isn’t to say others can’t use it, it is simply unlikely it will work. There is not enough time spent in REM for most people so the cycle is tough to adapt to. The cycle consists of 4 x 30 minute sleeps throughout the day which totals only 2 hours of sleep! Some have adjusted the cycle to reflect a pattern of one 1.5 hour sleep with 2 x 30 minute naps and one 20 minute nap.
The Uberman cycle, again
name by Puredoxyk, is a sleep schedule consisting entirely of 20 minute naps totalling 2 hours of sleep per day. Each nap is spaced equidistantly throughout the day. The classic method is to take 6 x 20 minute equidistant naps per day. Alternatively, people can take 8 x 20 minute naps, also spaced equidistantly throughout the day, as the extra 40 minutes each day can make a big difference. Some report that missing naps while on this schedule can result in feeling very drained and tired, so keeping to the schedule is important. This of course might be difficult depending on your schedule, so take that into consideration if you decide to give this a try. One cool note for this cycle is that many Uberman sleepers report experiencing very vivid lucid dreams. This cycle might be worth a try for those experimenting with lucid dreaming.
How will you sleep? When I first heard of the possibility of different sleep cycles I got excited. So for me, I am definitely going to give one of these a try. As of now I will likely start experimenting with the Everyman cycle. Either way you go when it comes to swapping sleep cycles, it seems the only one that requires very little adjustment of your body is the Byphasic. Each of the others will likely require a 2 week period of integration before you fully recognize the nature of the cycle.
If you decide to give them a try, don’t be hasty in giving up! Feeling like a zombie after the first few days is a possibility, but with the proper adjustment things could work out. Keep your current lifestyle in mind before choosing a different cycle. Is it going to be possible for you to have naps throughout the day? Don’t be afraid to push your boundaries, but remember practicality. It has been said that eating healthy/clean foods helps with the adjustment process. It’s also recommended that you get a good alarm and make it your friend.
When you first begin changing your cycle, you will need it to stay disciplined, so do your best to keep on track with your sleep and wake up times. When you do sleep, try to be in a dark setting. When you awaken, try to expose yourself to sunlight for a few minutes. Remember, don’t give up right away! If you have had experiences with alternate sleep cycles, share them below.
The infographic below is based on a speech “Why Happiness is the New Productivity” given by Vishen Lakhiani in Calgary, where he presented alongside luminaries like Sir Richard Branson, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Stephen Covey, and Nobel Prize Winner F.W De Klerk. This speech won the audience vote as one of the best speeches of the entire event.
Are you ready to attract your heartfelt longings by doing a moon ritual focused on manifestation?
Tomorrow is New Moon. The new moon is the birthing cycle of the moon’s various phases. The new moon phase is an optimal time for planning and seeding your intentions. Seedlings need a period of gestation before they break through the soil and reach for the sunlight. This is also true for our cultivating our ideas and clearing the way for our visions to surface in reality. The dark side of the moon, with its mysterious unseen forces, offers a nurturing environment where our intentions can establish roots before their miraculous manifestations begin to sprout and reach out to the stars.
Moon Ritual for Birthing Your Wishes and Desires
Begin by setting aside a few minutes each month during the new moon phase to focus on your wishes. This will help give you clarity of mind and fill your heart with promise. When it comes to setting goals or planning ahead for your future there is no better time to get started than during the new moon. Any intentions stated or written down also carries power, so please take care in considering those things that you truly want. The saying “Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.” is fair warning whenever setting your new moon intentions into motion. But, no worries. The moon has its phases and so do our individual wants and needs. This is why it is a good practice to rededicate your list of intentions each month when another new moon cycle returns for a visit.
Prep for Upcoming New Moon Manifestation
- Check a moon phase calendar for the next upcoming new moon. (next is tomorrow 1 of march 2014)
- Set aside 20-30 minutes to do the ritual itself.
- Supply suggestions:
- pen and colored markers
- scotch tape
- smudge sticks
- meditation CDs
- Prepare yourself a sacred space where your will perform the ceremony when the new moon arrives.
Setting your New Moon Intentions in Motion
- Cleanse your sacred area with an opening prayer, asage smudging, and/or by burning some incense.
- Light one or more candles.
- Center your being and calm yourself in whatever way is appropriate for you. Take some deep cleansing breaths, slip in a meditation CD to listen to, and/or leisurely sip on a cup of relaxing herbal tea.
- Open your notebook, and date the first page. Write down these words “I accept these things into my life now or something better for my highest good and for the highest good of all concerned.” or something similar. Below your affirmation statement, begin writing down your desires. Your list may consist of a single item or you may have several pages listing multiple items. Try not to limit yourself. If having many things in your life helps to fulfill you then don’t deny yourself wanting these things.
- During the month when an item on your new moon list comes to you no not merely cross it off of your list. Take the time to rewrite the list in its entirety eliminating the manifested item from the listing. Revising your master list in this way is highly recommended. At the same time you may add whatever else that you have decided you would like. Feel free to reword any of the original phrases to better suit your life now. It is natural that your desires will change as time advances.
- A second notebook will be used as a manifestation scrapbook where you can paste in pictures or catalog clippings of items that you are wanting to manifest. Creating manifesting scrapbooks or vision boards is a fun project to undertake, enjoy yourself! You will soon be amazed how these things begin to find their way into your life once you start this process.
Rededicating your New Moon Intentions
Each month at the new moon rededicate your intentions by renewing your list at a repeated ritual. This is accomplished by rewriting your list out using a fresh sheet of paper. Please don’t get in the habit of simply scratching out the items you no longer desire and simply adding the new stuff to the bottom of your old list. You don’t want clutter and sloppiness energies messing up the path meant to deliver new stuff into your life do you? Disregard any items that no longer feed your soul and add new things which will.
It is helpful to salt and pepper your manifest list with smaller items that will manifest quickly, such as tickets to the ballet, lunch with a friend, or a day at the spa. You may think that smaller things are too trivial to put on your intention list… Wrong! Things that tend to manifest with less effort still deserve to be written down. Write down everything that you desire, no matter how little or simple. If it is something that makes you happy, write it down. Manifesting smaller items on our lists actually creates a steady flow of chi giving your list a boost. These smaller manifestations create movement, allowing an ebb and flow of the tides. We are dealing here with the moon cycles after all. Besides, sometimes we forget to appreciate the smaller pleasures in our lives while we are waiting for the BIG stuff to come in. If you only write statements like, “I want to win the lottery” in your notebook then you are limiting yourself by not allowing abundance to flow to you from a multitude of avenues.
1. Polish shoes. Just rub the inside of the peel on your shoe, then buff it with a soft cloth.
2. Tenderize meat. Add a ripe banana peel to a roasting pan to keep boneless, skinless cuts of meat from toughening up and drying out during cooking.
3. Feed roses. Banana peels are rich in calcium and magnesium, which flowers love.
4. Relieve rashes and itches. Rub the peel over bug bites, poison ivy rashes or psoriasis patches to reduce itchiness and promote healing.
5. Shine houseplants. Wipe dust and dirt off the leaves of houseplants with the inside of a banana peel.
6. Polish silverware. Blend a banana peel with water and use on your silver with a soft cloth.
7. Deter aphids. Bury banana peels around your garden to scare away these pests.
8. Polish leather. Rub the pithy side of the peel on leather jackets and furniture, then buff with a soft cloth.
9. Whiten teeth. Rub a banana peel on your teeth for about two minutes every time you brush to let the manganese, magnesium and potassium helps whiten the enamel.
10. Treat bruises and scrapes. Potassium in the banana peels helps with the healing process when rubbed on a wound.
11. Fertilize tomato plants. Wrap a banana peel around your tomato starts so they can absorb nutrients from it throughout the season.
12. Attract butterflies and birds. Put peels from overripe bananas on a raised platform and watch the lovelies flock to the sweetness. Beware that bees and wasps may be attracted as well.
13. Remove warts. Tape a piece of banana peel to the wart overnight for about a week and the potassium will eliminate the outbreak and prevent its return.
14. Work out splinters. Tape a piece of banana peel on top of a splinter and its natural enzymes will shift the splinter and make it easier to remove.
15. Improve compost. Banana peels break down quickly and add lots of nutrients to the soil.
16. Boost indoor plant water. Soak a banana peel in a large jar of water, then combine one part of the resulting banana peel water with five parts of regular water in a watering can to fertilize indoor plants.
17. Make vinegar. Use the sour flavour of banana-peel vinegar on salads, to flavor water and tea, or in any recipe that calls for vinegar. Get instructions here.
18. Treat acne. Scrub blemishes for 10 minutes with a ripe banana peel. Leave the residue on your face for as long as possible before washing off before bed. Repeat daily until acne is cleared up.
The word Chakra is Sanskrit forwheel. Chakra symbols represent the circular centers of energy, and they correspond to the nerve plexuses and organs in the physical nervous system. By focusing on these energy centers, and understanding the function of each, we are able to balance our energies, augment areas in our lives, and even facilitate healing.
The video below by Anadoe Judith “Illuminated Chakras” is my favorite way to describe the meaning and significance of Chakras.
The information given on this page is a basic summary. Chakra practitioners spend years learning about the healing arts relating to these intricate energy centers. If you wish to learn more about this unique realm of the human make-up, the author encourages you to begin an avid independent study and I invite you to click on the name of each Chakra for an separate article about how to activate it (if there is no link that means that the article is being prepared).
Many individuals have chakra symbols embellished on clothing or keep these images near them in order to keep the attributes in their mind as they aspire to better balance and higher energy.

Our world is so full of wonders that new and amazing places are discovered every day, be that by professional photographers or amateurs. Different geographical locations, climatic conditions and even seasons offer the widest variety of natural wonders: pink lakes, stunning lavender or tulip fields, breath-taking canyons and mountains, and other places you can hardly believe actually exist!
Some of the pictures in this collection will be of all natural sights you can find while traveling around the world, while the others have experienced human interference – but even in these cases, the result of such collaboration is spectacular. The Japanese learned how to tame thousands of orchids and form a romantic tunnel out of them; another one was formed all the way in Ukraine by a passing train; and what eventually ends up as hot tea in our mugs, first grows in stunning tree fields in Asia.
No wonder that traveling in one of the best forms of recreation – even looking at these pictures takes your mind to far away places… And yes, all those of those places are real!
Feel free to add more places in the comments under the article.
“The implications this research could have on humanity is quite fascinating given it could reach into the realms of creating a world of peace, healthy living and joy.”
A Russian scientist has been studying the human energy field and is claiming that people can change the world simply by using their own energy. While this idea is not new, not too many have taken the time to scientifically go about proving such ideas -although the field of quantum physics has shed some powerful light on the topic over the years. Dr. Konstantin Korotkov, professor of physics at St. Petersburg State Technical University, states that when we think positive and negative thoughts, each have a different impact on our surrounding environment.
“We are developing the idea that our consciousness is part of the material world and that with our consciousness we can directly influence our world,” said Dr. Konstantin Korotkov.
We cannot see energy very easily with the human eye and thus the world of unseen energy can be difficult for the mind to grasp without scientific measurements to verify what is taking place. Perhaps this is why the study of consciousness affecting our reality has been virtually untouched for so long. To help create a bridge between our physical and unseen world, scientific experiments using a technique called bioelectrophotography are being carried out. In these experiments, an assumption must be made that states the human body and consciousness is constantly emitting energy. Following this assumption, Bioelectrophotography aims to capture these energy fields seen as a light around the body. In the metaphysical world this energy emission is known as a person’s aura, while in the scientific field, it is often refereed to as our energy field.
Dr. Korotkov is not the only one studying the affects of the human mind, thoughts and energy on our surrounding environment. The Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research (PEAR) Laboratory has also been trying to wrap their heads around the subject and have concluded that the mind does in fact have a subtle capacity to influence the output of devices known as Random Event Generators (REGs).
A project that initially started when a student was curious to study the effects of the human mind and intention on the surrounding environment, turned into a rigorous testing lab where Dr. Robert Jahn and his lab assistant spent many hours experimenting to determine whether or not the mind has an affect on our physical world. Jahn and his assistant were able to determine that the human minds interactions with the machines demonstrated a relationship that was not physical in nature. The mind was able to affect and change outcomes of the machine in ways that were beyond explainable. In essence, consciousness was having an affect over the physical world.
“The mind was able to affect and change outcomes of the machine in ways that were beyond explainable.”
To determine the affects of the minds intention on the physical world, they built several machines called a random number generator. The machine would essentially mimic a coin flip and record the results over time. The machine performed 200 flips per second and produced an average mean of 100 as one would expect. Left unattended, the machine would continue to produce results that suggested a 50/50 chance of producing either heads or tales. The interesting results came when human intention started to interact with the machine. What was once a random 50/50 chance of producing heads or tales began to deviate from expectation as the observer began to intend for the numbers to be higher or lower. While the affects of the mind over the the machines was not large, it was enough that contemporary physics is unable to explain what exactly is happening. Perhaps this is where the quantum world can shed light?
The implications this research could have on humanity is quite fascinating given it could reach into the realms of creating a world of peace, healthy living and joy. If intentions and thoughts can impact something the way it has been demonstrated above, why not explore the boundaries of how far this can go? It is my belief that we create our realities with our thoughts and intentions, I feel science is starting to confirm this and in time we will realize the true power of our minds and intentions.
The video below is a very brief synopsis of the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research laboratory of Princeton University, whose research into mind-matter interaction forms the foundation of Psyleron Technology.

The human DNA is a biological internet and superior in many aspects to the artificial one. Russian scientific research directly or indirectly explains phenomena such as clairvoyance, intuition, spontaneous and remote acts of healing, self healing, affirmation techniques, unusual light/auras around people (namely spiritual masters), mind’s influence on weather patterns and much more. In addition, there is evidence for a whole new type of medicine in which DNA can be influenced and reprogrammed by words and frequencies WITHOUT cutting out and replacing single genes.
Only 10% of our DNA is being used for building proteins. It is this subset of DNA that is of interest to western researchers and is being examined and categorized. The other 90% are considered “junk DNA.” The Russian researchers, however, convinced that nature was not dumb, joined linguists and geneticists in a venture to explore those 90% of “junk DNA.” Their results, findings and conclusions are simply revolutionary!
According to them, our DNA is not only responsible for the construction of our body but also serves as data storage and in communication. The Russian linguists found that the genetic code, especially in the apparently useless 90%, follows the same rules as all our human languages. To this end they compared the rules of syntax (the way in which words are put together to form phrases and sentences), semantics (the study of meaning in language forms) and the basic rules of grammar.
They found that the alkalines of our DNA follow a regular grammar and do have set rules just like our languages. So human languages did not appear coincidentally but are a reflection of our inherent DNA. The Russian biophysicist and molecular biologist Pjotr Garjajev and his colleagues also explored the vibrational behavior of the DNA. [For the sake of brevity I will give only a summary here. For further exploration please refer to the appendix at the end of this article.] The bottom line was: “Living chromosomes function just like solitonic/holographic computers using the endogenous DNA laser radiation.” This means that they managed for example to modulate certain frequency patterns onto a laser ray and with it influenced the DNA frequency and thus the genetic information itself. Since the basic structure of DNA-alkaline pairs and of language (as explained earlier) are of the same structure, no DNA decoding is necessary. One can simply use words and sentences of the human language! This, too, was experimentally proven! Living DNA substance (in living tissue, not in vitro) will always react to language-modulated laser rays and even to radio waves, if the proper frequencies are being used.
This finally and scientifically explains why affirmations, autogenous training, hypnosis and the like can have such strong effects on humans and their bodies. It is entirely normal and natural for our DNA to react to language. While western researchers cut single genes from the DNA strands and insert them elsewhere, the Russians enthusiastically worked on devices that can influence the cellular metabolism through suitable modulated radio and light frequencies and thus repair genetic defects. Garjajev’s research group succeeded in proving that with this method chromosomes damaged by x-rays for example can be repaired. They even captured information patterns of a particular DNA and transmitted it onto another, thus reprogramming cells to another genome. So they successfully transformed, for example, frog embryos to salamander embryos simply by transmitting the DNA information patterns! This way the entire information was transmitted without any of the side effects or disharmonies encountered when cutting out and re-introducing single genes from the DNA.
This represents an unbelievable, world-transforming revolution and sensation! All this by simply applying vibration and language instead of the archaic cutting-out procedure! This experiment points to the immense power of wave genetics, which obviously has a greater influence on the formation of organisms than the biochemical processes of alkaline sequences. Esoteric and spiritual teachers have known for ages that our body is programmable by language, words and thought. This has now been scientifically proven and explained. Of course the frequency has to be correct. And this is why not everybody is equally successful or can do it with always the same strength.
The individual person must work on the inner processes and maturity in order to establish a conscious communication with the DNA.
The Russian researchers work on a method that is not dependent on these factors but will ALWAYS work, provided one uses the correct frequency. But the higher developed an individual’s consciousness is, the less need is there for any type of device! One can achieve these results by oneself, and science will finally stop to laugh at such ideas and will confirm and explain the results.
And it doesn’t end there.?The Russian scientists also found out that our DNA can cause disturbing patterns in the vacuum, thus producing magnetized wormholes! Wormholes are the microscopic equivalents of the so-called Einstein-Rosen bridges in the vicinity of black holes (left by burned-out stars).? These are tunnel connections between entirely different areas in the universe through which information can be transmitted outside of space and time. The DNA attracts these bits of information and passes them on to our consciousness. This process of hyper communication is most effective in a state of relaxation.
Stress, worries or a hyperactive intellect prevent successful hyper communication or the information will be totally distorted and useless.
In nature, hyper communication has been successfully applied for millions of years. The organized flow of life in insect states proves this dramatically. Modern man knows it only on a much more subtle level as “intuition.” But we, too, can regain full use of it. An example from Nature: When a queen ant is spatially separated from her colony, building still continues fervently and according to plan. If the queen is killed, however, all work in the colony stops. No ant knows what to do. Apparently the queen sends the “building plans” also from far away via the group consciousness of her subjects. She can be as far away as she wants, as long as she is alive.
In man hyper communication is most often encountered when one suddenly gains access to information that is outside one’s knowledge base. Such hyper communication is then experienced as inspiration or intuition. The Italian composer Giuseppe Tartini for instance dreamt one night that a devil sat at his bedside playing the violin. The next morning Tartini was able to note down the piece exactly from memory, he called it the Devil’s Trill Sonata. For years, a 42-year old male nurse dreamt of a situation in which he was hooked up to a kind of knowledge CD-ROM. Verifiable knowledge from all imaginable fields was then transmitted to him that he was able to recall in the morning. There was such a flood of information that it seemed a whole encyclopedia was transmitted at night. The majority of facts were outside his personal knowledge base and reached technical details about which he knew absolutely nothing.
When hyper communication occurs, one can observe in the DNA as well as in the human being special phenomena.
The Russian scientists irradiated DNA samples with laser light. On screen a typical wave pattern was formed. When they removed the DNA sample, the wave pattern did not disappear, it remained. Many control experiments showed that the pattern still came from the removed sample, whose energy field apparently remained by itself. This effect is now called phantom DNA effect. It is surmised that energy from outside of space and time still flows through the activated wormholes after the DNA was removed. The side effect encountered most often in hyper communication also in human beings are inexplicable electromagnetic fields in the vicinity of the persons concerned. Electronic devices like CD players and the like can be irritated and cease to function for hours. When the electromagnetic field slowly dissipates, the devices function normally again. Many healers and psychics know this effect from their work. The better the atmosphere and the energy, the more frustrating it is that the recording device stops functioning and recording exactly at that moment. And repeated switching on and off after the session does not restore function yet, but next morning all is back to normal. Perhaps this is reassuring to read for many, as it has nothing to do with them being technically inept, it means they are good at hyper communication.
In their book “Vernetzte Intelligenz” (Networked Intelligence), Grazyna Gosar and Franz Bludorf explain these connections precisely and clearly. The authors also quote sources presuming that in earlier times humanity had been, just like the animals, very strongly connected to the group consciousness and acted as a group. To develop and experience individuality we humans however had to forget hyper communication almost completely. Now that we are fairly stable in our individual consciousness, we can create a new form of group consciousness, namely one, in which we attain access to all information via our DNA without being forced or remotely controlled about what to do with that information. We now know that just as on the internet our DNA can feed its proper data into the network, can call up data from the network and can establish contact with other participants in the network. Remote healing, telepathy or “remote sensing” about the state of relatives etc.. can thus be explained. Some animals know also from afar when their owners plan to return home. That can be freshly interpreted and explained via the concepts of group consciousness and hyper communication. Any collective consciousness cannot be sensibly used over any period of time without a distinctive individuality. Otherwise we would revert to a primitive herd instinct that is easily manipulated. Hyper communication in the new millennium means something quite different:
Researchers think that if humans with full individuality would regain group consciousness, they would have a god-like power to create, alter and shape things on Earth!
AND humanity is collectively moving toward such a group consciousness of the new kind. Fifty percent of today’s children will be problem children as soon as the go to school. The system lumps everyone together and demands adjustment. But the individuality of today’s children is so strong that that they refuse this adjustment and giving up their idiosyncrasies in the most diverse ways. At the same time more and more clairvoyant children are born [see the book “China’s Indigo Children” by Paul Dong or the chapter about Indigos in my book “Nutze die taeglichen Wunder”(Make Use of the Daily Wonders)]. Something in those children is striving more and more towards the group consciousness of the new kind, and it will no longer be suppressed. As a rule, weather for example is rather difficult to influence by a single individual. But it may be influenced by a group consciousness (nothing new to some tribes doing it in their rain dances). Weather is strongly influenced by Earth resonance frequencies, the so-called Schumann frequencies. But those same frequencies are also produced in our brains, and when many people synchronize their thinking or individuals (spiritual masters, for instance) focus their thoughts in a laser-like fashion, then it is scientifically speaking not at all surprising if they can thus influence weather. Researchers in group consciousness have formulated the theory of Type I civilizations.
A humanity that developed a group consciousness of the new kind would have neither environmental problems nor scarcity of energy.
For if it were to use its mental power as a unified civilization, it would have control of the energies of its home planet as a natural consequence. And that includes all natural catastrophes!!! A theoretical Type II civilization would even be able to control all energies of their home galaxy. In my book “Nutze die taeglichen Wunder,” I have described an example of this: Whenever a great many people focus their attention or consciousness on something similar like Christmas time, football world championship or the funeral of Lady Diana in England then certain random number generators in computers start to deliver ordered numbers instead of the random ones. An ordered group consciousness creates order in its whole surroundings! When a great number of people get together very closely, potentials of violence also dissolve. It looks as if here, too, a kind of humanitarian consciousness of all humanity is created.(The Global Consciousness Project) To come back to the DNA: It apparently is also an organic superconductor that can work at normal body temperature. Artificial superconductors require extremely low temperatures of between 200 and 140°C to function. As one recently learned, all superconductors are able to store light and thus information. This is a further explanation of how the DNA can store information. There is another phenomenon linked to DNA and wormholes. Normally, these supersmall wormholes are highly unstable and are maintained only for the tiniest fractions of a second. Under certain conditions stable wormholes can organize themselves which then form distinctive vacuum domains in which for example gravity can transform into electricity. Vacuum domains are self-radiant balls of ionized gas that contain considerable amounts of energy. There are regions in Russia where such radiant balls appear very often. Following the ensuing confusion the Russians started massive research programs leading finally to some of the discoveries mentions above. Many people know vacuum domains as shiny balls in the sky. The attentive look at them in wonder and ask themselves, what they could be. I thought once: “Hello up there. If you happen to be a UFO, fly in a triangle.” And suddenly, the light balls moved in a triangle. Or they shot across the sky like ice hockey pucks. They accelerated from zero to crazy speeds while sliding gently across the sky. One is left gawking and I have, as many others, too, thought them to be UFOs. Friendly ones, apparently, as they flew in triangles just to please me. Now the Russians found in the regions, where vacuum domains appear often that sometimes fly as balls of light from the ground upwards into the sky, that these balls can be guided by thought. One has found out since that vacuum domains emit waves of low frequency as they are also produced in our brains. And because of this similarity of waves they are able to react to our thoughts. To run excitedly into one that is on ground level might not be such a great idea, because those balls of light can contain immense energies and are able to mutate our genes. They can, they don’t necessarily have to, one has to say.
For many spiritual teachers also produce such visible balls or columns of light in deep meditation or during energy work which trigger decidedly pleasant feelings and do not cause any harm. Apparently this is also dependent on some inner order and on the quality and provenance of the vacuum domain. There are some spiritual teachers (the young Englishman Ananda, for example) with whom nothing is seen at first, but when one tries to take a photograph while they sit and speak or meditate in hyper communication, one gets only a picture of a white cloud on a chair. In some Earth healing projects such light effects also appear on photographs. Simply put, these phenomena have to do with gravity and anti-gravity forces that are also exactly described in the book and with ever more stable wormholes and hyper communication and thus with energies from outside our time and space structure. Earlier generations that got in contact with such hyper communication experiences and visible vacuum domains were convinced that an angel had appeared before them. And we cannot be too sure to what forms of consciousness we can get access when using hyper communication. Not having scientific proof for their actual existence (people having had such experiences do NOT all suffer from hallucinations) does not mean that there is no metaphysical background to it. We have simply made another giant step towards understanding our reality. Official science also knows of gravity anomalies on Earth (that contribute to the formation of vacuum domains), but only of ones of below one percent. But recently gravity anomalies have been found of between three and four percent. One of these places is Rocca di Papa, south of Rome (exact location in the book “Vernetzte Intelligenz” plus several others). Round objects of all kinds, from balls to full buses, roll uphill. But the stretch in Rocca di Papa is rather short, and defying logic sceptics still flee to the theory of optical illusion (which it cannot be due to several features of the location).

Remember today, for it is the beginning.
Today marks the start of a brave new future.
Here it is, a positive ‘to-do’ list for the upcoming year – 30 things to start doing for yourself:
1. Start spending time with the right people.
These are the people you enjoy, who love and appreciate you, and who encourage you to improve in healthy and exciting ways. They are the ones who make you feel more alive, and not only embrace who you are now, but also embrace and embody who you want to be, unconditionally.
2. Start facing your problems head on.
It isn’t your problems that define you, but how you react to them and recover from them. Problems will not disappear unless you take action. Do what you can, when you can, and acknowledge what you’ve done. It’s all about taking baby steps in the right direction, inch by inch. These inches count, they add up to yards and miles in the long run.
3. Start being honest with yourself about everything.
Be honest about what’s right, as well as what needs to be changed. Be honest about what you want to achieve and who you want to become. Be honest with every aspect of your life, always. Because you are the one person you can forever count on. Search your soul, for the truth, so that you truly know who you are. Once you do, you’ll have a better understanding of where you are now and how you got here, and you’ll be better equipped to identify where you want to go and how to get there. Read The Road Less Traveled.
4. Start making your own happiness a priority.
Your needs matter. If you don’t value yourself, look out for yourself, and stick up for yourself, you’re sabotaging yourself. Remember, it IS possible to take care of your own needs while simultaneously caring for those around you. And once your needs are met, you will likely be far more capable of helping those who need you most.
5. Start being yourself, genuinely and proudly.
Trying to be anyone else is a waste of the person you are. Be yourself. Embrace that individualinside you that has ideas, strengths and beauty like no one else. Be the person you know yourself to be – the best version of you – on your terms. Above all, be true to YOU, and if you cannot put your heart in it, take yourself out of it.
6. Start noticing and living in the present.
Right now is a miracle. Right now is the only moment guaranteed to you. Right now is life. So stop thinking about how great things will be in the future. Stop dwelling on what did or didn’t happen in the past. Learn to be in the ‘here and now’ and experience life as it’s happening. Appreciate the world for the beauty that it holds, right now.
7. Start valuing the lessons your mistakes teach you.
Mistakes are okay; they’re the stepping stones of progress. If you’re not failing from time to time, you’re not trying hard enough and you’re not learning. Take risks, stumble, fall, and then get up and try again. Appreciate that you are pushing yourself, learning, growing and improving. Significant achievements are almost invariably realized at the end of a long road of failures. One of the ‘mistakes’ you fear might just be the link to your greatest achievement yet.
8. Start being more polite to yourself.
If you had a friend who spoke to you in the same way that you sometimes speak to yourself, how long would you allow that person to be your friend? The way you treat yourself sets the standard for others. You must love who you are or no one else will.
9. Start enjoying the things you already have.
The problem with many of us is that we think we’ll be happy when we reach a certain level in life – a level we see others operating at – your boss with her corner office, that friend of a friend who owns a mansion on the beach, etc. Unfortunately, it takes awhile before you get there, and when you get there you’ll likely have a new destination in mind. You’ll end up spending your whole life working toward something new without ever stopping to enjoy the things you have now. So take a quiet moment every morning when you first awake to appreciate where you are and what you already have.
10. Start creating your own happiness.
If you are waiting for someone else to make you happy, you’re missing out. Smile because you can. Choose happiness. Be the change you want to see in the world. Be happy with who you are now, and let your positivity inspire your journey into tomorrow. Happiness is often found when and where you decide to seek it. If you look for happiness within the opportunities you have, you will eventually find it. But if you constantly look for something else, unfortunately, you’ll find that too. Read Stumbling on Happiness.
11. Start giving your ideas and dreams a chance.
In life, it’s rarely about getting a chance; it’s about taking a chance. You’ll never be 100% sure it will work, but you can always be 100% sure doing nothing won’t work. Most of the time you just have to go for it! And no matter how it turns out, it always ends up just the way it should be. Either you succeed or you learn something. Win-Win.
12. Start believing that you’re ready for the next step.
You are ready! Think about it. You have everything you need right now to take the next small, realistic step forward. So embrace the opportunities that come your way, and accept the challenges – they’re gifts that will help you to grow.
13. Start entering new relationships for the right reasons.
Enter new relationships with dependable, honest people who reflect the person you are and the person you want to be. Choose friends you are proud to know, people you admire, who show you love and respect – people who reciprocate your kindness and commitment. And pay attention to what people do, because a person’s actions are much more important than their words or how others represent them.
14. Start giving new people you meet a chance.
It sounds harsh, but you cannot keep every friend you’ve ever made. People and priorities change. As some relationships fade others will grow. Appreciate the possibility of new relationships as you naturally let go of old ones that no longer work. Trust your judgment. Embrace new relationships, knowing that you are entering into unfamiliar territory. Be ready to learn, be ready for a challenge, and be ready to meet someone that might just change your life forever.
15. Start competing against an earlier version of yourself.
Be inspired by others, appreciate others, learn from others, but know that competing against them is a waste of time. You are in competition with one person and one person only – yourself. You are competing to be the best you can be. Aim to break your own personal records.
16. Start cheering for other people’s victories.
Start noticing what you like about others and tell them. Having an appreciation for how amazing the people around you are leads to good places – productive, fulfilling, peaceful places. So be happy for those who are making progress. Cheer for their victories. Be thankful for their blessings, openly. What goes around comes around, and sooner or later the people you’re cheering for will start cheering for you.
17. Start looking for the silver lining in tough situations.
When things are hard, and you feel down, take a few deep breaths and look for the silver lining – the small glimmers of hope. Remind yourself that you can and will grow stronger from these hard times. And remain conscious of your blessings and victories – all the things in your life that are right. Focus on what you have, not on what you haven’t.
18. Start forgiving yourself and others.
We’ve all been hurt by our own decisions and by others. And while the pain of these experiences is normal, sometimes it lingers for too long. We relive the pain over and over and have a hard time letting go. Forgiveness is the remedy. It doesn’t mean you’re erasing the past, or forgetting what happened. It means you’re letting go of the resentment and pain, and instead choosing to learn from the incident and move on with your life.
19. Start helping those around you.
Care about people. Guide them if you know a better way. The more you help others, the more they will want to help you. Love and kindness begets love and kindness. And so on and so forth.
20. Start listening to your own inner voice.
If it helps, discuss your ideas with those closest to you, but give yourself enough room to follow your own intuition. Be true to yourself. Say what you need to say. Do what you know in your heart is right.
21. Start being attentive to your stress level and take short breaks.
Slow down. Breathe. Give yourself permission to pause, regroup and move forward with clarity and purpose. When you’re at your busiest, a brief recess can rejuvenate your mind and increase your productivity. These short breaks will help you regain your sanity and reflect on your recent actions so you can be sure they’re in line with your goals.
22. Start noticing the beauty of small moments.
Instead of waiting for the big things to happen – marriage, kids, big promotion, winning the lottery – find happiness in the small things that happen every day. Little things like having a quiet cup of coffee in the early morning, or the delicious taste and smell of a homemade meal, or the pleasure of sharing something you enjoy with someone else, or holding hands with your partner. Noticing these small pleasures on a daily basis makes a big difference in the quality of your life.
23. Start accepting things when they are less than perfect.
Remember, ‘perfect’ is the enemy of ‘good.’ One of the biggest challenges for people who want to improve themselves and improve the world is learning to accept things as they are. Sometimes it’s better to accept and appreciate the world as it is, and people as they are, rather than to trying to make everything and everyone conform to an impossible ideal. No, you shouldn’t accept a life of mediocrity, but learn to love and value things when they are less than perfect.
24. Start working toward your goals every single day.
Remember, the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Whatever it is you dream about, start taking small, logical steps every day to make it happen. Get out there and DO something! The harder you work the luckier you will become. While many of us decide at some point during the course of our lives that we want to answer our calling, only an astute few of us actually work on it. By ‘working on it,’ I mean consistently devoting oneself to the end result. Read The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
25. Start being more open about how you feel.
If you’re hurting, give yourself the necessary space and time to hurt, but be open about it. Talk to those closest to you. Tell them the truth about how you feel. Let them listen. The simple act of getting things off your chest and into the open is your first step toward feeling good again.
26. Start taking full accountability for your own life.
Own your choices and mistakes, and be willing to take the necessary steps to improve upon them. Either you take accountability for your life or someone else will. And when they do, you’ll become a slave to their ideas and dreams instead of a pioneer of your own. You are the only one who can directly control the outcome of your life. And no, it won’t always be easy. Every person has a stack of obstacles in front of them. But you must take accountability for your situation and overcome these obstacles. Choosing not to is choosing a lifetime of mere existence.
27. Start actively nurturing your most important relationships.
Bring real, honest joy into your life and the lives of those you love by simply telling them how much they mean to you on a regular basis. You can’t be everything to everyone, but you can be everything to a few people. Decide who these people are in your life and treat them like royalty. Remember, you don’t need a certain number of friends, just a number of friends you can be certain of.
28. Start concentrating on the things you can control.
You can’t change everything, but you can always change something. Wasting your time, talent and emotional energy on things that are beyond your control is a recipe for frustration, misery and stagnation. Invest your energy in the things you can control, and act on them now.
29. Start focusing on the possibility of positive outcomes.
The mind must believe it CAN do something before it is capable of actually doing it. The way to overcome negative thoughts and destructive emotions is to develop opposing, positive emotions that are stronger and more powerful. Listen to your self-talk and replace negative thoughts with positive ones. Regardless of how a situation seems, focus on what you DO WANT to happen, and then take the next positive step forward. No, you can’t control everything that happens to you, but you can control how you react to things. Everyone’s life has positive and negative aspects – whether or not you’re happy and successful in the long run depends greatly on which aspects you focus on. Read The How of Happiness.
30. Start noticing how wealthy you are right now.
Henry David Thoreau once said, “Wealth is the ability to fully experience life.” Even when times are tough, it’s always important to keep things in perspective. You didn’t go to sleep hungry last night. You didn’t go to sleep outside. You had a choice of what clothes to wear this morning. You hardly broke a sweat today. You didn’t spend a minute in fear. You have access to clean drinking water. You have access to medical care. You have access to the Internet. You can read. Some might say you are incredibly wealthy, so remember to be grateful for all the things you do have.
“It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.” ~ Tony Robbins
Recently I’m looking for a new home here in Berlin. Since we are looking to become a family soon, it’s time for a change. The market has gotten a lot tougher here in the last 2 years, which was when I first moved here. Many good homes are gone or overly pricy now.
Still, finally we thought we found something right. So we made the deal only to realize the day after that if you are really it’s just too loud with the traffic outside, especially for a family. So we want to get out again and have produced a bit of a mess all by ourself.
It wasn’t a good decision.
That kept me wondering how this really bad decision could’ve happened in the first place?
What’s a Real Decision?
The word ‘decide’ itself comes from Latin and means ‘to cut off’. Making a real decision means to come to a moment of truth and cut off everything but the one way you will go. From then on you don’t look back but go your one way.
So in a sense, making a good decision is like cleaning the house, it can create a lot of clarity and fresh energy. On the other hand, making a bad decision – as in my case above with the new home – will probably create more confusion as there was in the first place.
Especially when the decision is more complex it can be important to first define exactly what are you going to decide about.
So making a good decision has always 4 phases:
1. Define Exactly the Decision to Be Made
2. Gather Information
3. Make the Decision
4. Execute the Decision
Especially gathering information can get tricky. You can either dismiss it too early and not look at all factors, as in my new home case where we didn’t looked at the noisiness of the place, especially at night. Or you can overdo your information gathering and end up in a kind of paralysis by analysis.
And after you made a decision it’s important not fall back and question your decision again. You probably know that scenario well, when you made a really difficult decision and afterwards you are in doubt if it was REALLY the right decision?! Doing that takes away a lot from the power of your decision and would cost you lots of emotional energy. So after you made the decision you need a bit of self-discipline to not go back anymore.
Fortunately we can train our decision-making ability. So if you make decisions a lot, it will get much easier and faster for you.
For the actual process of making a good decision, here is what works for me:
How to Make the Right Decision?
1. Listen to Your Heart
From my own experience I learned over and over again that with big decisions always go with your heart.
That means always listen to what is not necessarily at the top of your mind, but what your conscience whispers you about the decision to be made. Look at the reasons where these “whispers” come from. Are they based on fear? Do they try to protect you, maybe from growing? Or are they based on experience and on a deeper truth that you can sense from the inside?
In my new home scenario, I simply wasn’t satisfied with any of the offers. So my heart didn’t tell me something is right. That’s an interesting situation when you are faced with only “bad” options for your decision. More on that below…
2. What Are the Important Factors?
The second part is to use your mind. Get clear about what factors are important, most important, and what is of lesser importance for you. Make sure to get all the important facts.
Always make sure that your important decisions are in line with your current reality and with your long-term goals.
The Decision Matrix
If you want you can create a so-called decision matrix (more about weighted decision matrix) which I used in the past with good impact. The thing is of course not to get lost and make your decision solely on these mind-based analysis, which obviously entails the danger of getting to theoretically and emotionally detached.
In my bad decision above I 1) didn’t realize that the environmental noise is such a big factor for a good home and also 2) didn’t gather enough information to realize that it is in fact too loud at the place. The reason for that was because you didn’t follow rule 3 and 4:
3. Take Your Time
Pressure can speed things up, but it is always a bad counselor to make a decision. When you feel overwhelmed or even pressured try to step back and get some room to think clearly. Taking some time and a step back is generally a good idea. It can help to get a clear head again and look fresh at something.
This is especially true when you feel emotionally trapped in some way. Let’s say you are feeling down or you are unsatisfied with the options you have. Try to take some room and time to make a sound decision for all involved.
4. Know What’s Right for YOU
When there are more than one person involved it can get tricky to find the right compromise. Compromise is not the best word, since it already suggests that the people involved have to give in to their ideals one way or the other.
So what I really mean is to find a synergy. A synergy is when the sum of the parts is greater than the single parts alone. It’s not always possible but it’s worth looking for.
In any way, make sure that you keep your own needs in front of you.
5. Look Out for New Options
If you feel there are no good options, those that would really satisfy you, maybe there are other options our there. Maybe you need to reframe the situation and take a different angle to look at it!? Maybe you have to wait and look deeper.
The decision of whether you have to wait for better options or to get what is right in front of you is always difficult and more an art than anything else. When in doubt, I always go back to point 1 and look what my heart is telling me.
On the other hand, if you are faced with too many possibly ways to go, try to compare them to each other and eliminate all but the very best options.
Not Deciding is a (Bad) Decision Too
Sometimes it’s so difficult that you can’t really make a decision. Remember that without a conscious decision you lose control over the situation and it then controls you. So not deciding is almost never a good option.
So coming back to my example of renting the wrong home, with this decision I failed in point 3, 4 and 5. I felt pressured, did not listen 100% to my very own needs and I also had the feeling of running out of options, which wasn’t true of course.
How do you make your decisions and what were difficult decisions you made in the past?
A bowl of fresh salad greens is always a welcome addition for dinner. Growing your own lettuce is a snap. You will get the freshest, tastiest and most nutritious greens, and you can have a constant supply for many months out of the year.
A small raised bed is ideal for this. It will be cleaner, easier to maintain and harvest, and provide the best soil conditions for plants. Patio containers do well enough, but they dry out faster than a garden bed. The bigger the container, the better.
The optimal size bed for a salad garden is 4’ x 4’ square, which allows for easy reach from all sides. This area should provide plenty of salad greens for a small family.
Many things can be used to frame the bed, from straw bales to cinder blocks to wood to rock edging. It should be at least 8” tall. Try to find a locally-produced source of high quality garden soil with compost, worm castings, or well-rotted manure mixed in. A bit of organic granular fertilizer will help too. Bagged garden soil from the big box stores is not ideal, being a lifeless substrate suffused with chemical fertilizers.
Locate the salad garden in a spot that gets at least six hours of direct sunlight and is close to a source of water. If you’re in a hot climate, try to give it some afternoon shade. Do not put landscape fabric underneath the bed, as this will impede beneficial earthworms and prevent natural soil mixing. Cardboard can be laid over grass, which will smother vegetation but decompose fairly quickly and add organic matter.
Now, on to planting the salad garden. Leaf lettuce is ideal for the home gardener with little space, because you can keep picking the outer leaves and it keeps growing. While head lettuce is great, it takes longer to mature, is more finicky, and is harvested once.
Try to find leaf lettuce varieties that are recommended for your climate. Plant a couple of different types, such as Buttercrunch and Romaine lettuce, which will give you different textures. Include a red leafed variety for a color splash.
It is best to grow leaf lettuce from seed. Simply sow three seeds every six inches and cover with a very thin sprinkling of soil. Lettuce seeds need to “see the sunlight” to sprout. Water lightly every day. They will take 10-14 days to sprout, but once they begin growing it won’t be long before harvest time. Pick the outer leaves and let the plants keep growing.
If the lettuce goes from dark green to light green, fertilize with organic fish emulsion every couple of weeks. To add some diversity to your salad, plant long-lasting kale or Swiss chard in the “back” (the northern side) of the bed. Perhaps set aside one row for radish, which sprouts and grows quickly, for a spicy crunch in the salad.
You want to be confident and feel confident, but what if you’re starting with little or no confidence? How do you get from Point A to Point B? True self-confidence isn’t an overnight acquisition. It takes dedication to realize you are a good human being that is worthy of respect and love.
Recognize your insecurities. What does that voice in the back of your mind say? What makes you uncomfortable or ashamed of yourself? This could be anything from acne, toregrets, friends at school or a past traumatic or negative experience. Whatever is making you feel unworthy, ashamed, or inferior, identify it, give it a name, and write it down. You can also tear these written pieces to start feeling positive on those points.
Talk about it with friends and loved ones. Wear it on your sleeve. Each day you should chip away at it; wear it down. There’s no quick fix. Get to the root of the problem; focus on it and understand that you need to resolve each issue before you can move on. Check if it’s an old past emotion and if it is really still relevant or applicable in your life today. And that doesn’t mean you have to get rid of whatever makes you feel bad (many times, you simply can’t). You need to learn to accept yourself, your past, your circumstances as they are, without necessarily thinking of them as “bad”.
Bounce back from your mistakes. Remember that no one is perfect. Even the most confident people have insecurities. At some point in any of our lives, we may feel we lack something. That is reality. Learn that life is full of bumps down the road. And that often these insecure feelings come and go, depending on where we are, who we are with, the mood we’re in, how we are feeling. In other words, they are not constant.
Identify your successes. Everyone is good at something, so discover the things at whichyou excel, then focus on your talents. Give yourself permission to take pride in them. Give yourself credit for your successes. Inferiority is a state of mind in which you’ve declared yourself a victim. Do not allow yourself to be victimized. Express yourself, whether it’s through art, music, writing, etc. Find something you enjoy. Everyone is born with talents and strengths. You can develop and excel in yours. If it’s difficult to name two or three things you have some ability in or just plain love to do, think about things others do that you would like to do too and take some lessons or join an enthusiasts club. When you’re following your passion, not only will it have a therapeutic effect, but you’ll feel unique and accomplished, all of which can help build your self confidence. Plus, adding a variety of interests to your life will not only make you more confident, but it will increase your chances of meeting compatible friends
Be thankful for what you have. A lot of the times, at the root of insecurity and lack of confidence is a feeling of not having enough of something, whether it’s emotional validation, good luck, money, etc. By acknowledging and appreciating what you do have, you can combat the feeling of being incomplete and unsatisfied. Finding that inner peace will do wonders for your confidence.
Look in the mirror and smile. Studies surrounding what’s called the “facial feedback theory” suggest that the expressions on your face can actually encourage your brain to register certain emotions. So by looking in the mirror and smiling every day, you might feel happier with yourself and more confident in the long run.
Stick to your principles. It might be tough, but if you don’t have something you can believe in, you don’t have anything. If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything. No matter what’s happened in your life, you can always lay claim to the fact that from this day forward, you’ve followed your principles to the best of your ability.
Avoid perfectionism: Perfectionism paralyzes you and keeps you from accomplishing your goals.
One the most widely appreciated forms of entertainment is undoubtedly the realm of film and television. Pretty well all of us have seen a number of films and TV shows that have made us either laugh, cry, cheer or even at times leave us contemplating why it was ever made. An element that is not that common in film is to find bits of truth or consciousness, and that’s why we have put together a list of some of the films that could offer us a bit more than simple entertainment.
We created a Top 10 list of movies with a message of truth or consciousness. These movies were selected by our Facebook community in a survey we recently published. There are a lot of movies with a message of truth and consciousness however, we selected only the ones that were voted for.
1. V For Vendetta
image – http://www.imdb.com
Shows some of the corruption in the various levels of government, and how we are kept hidden from the truth. Ultimately also gives glimpses of the intention behind the New World Order, and how all it takes is a collective awakening and refusal to abide to bring an end to their power and control.
2. Fight Club
image – http://www.imdb.com
At the end it shows how the complete collapse of the financial and debt structures in place. Which is part of what will be required to shift the consciousness of the planet. Also shows the role the mind can play, and how easily it can mask itself as our true and only experience.
3. The Matrix
image – http://www.imdb.com
Gives a great representation of exactly what we are to the Elite of the world –batteries. We fuel their entire matrix and designed system. Perhaps even more profound is how this film reveals what it is like to awaken and step out of The Matrix into the real world. Only the minds stories and your ego are what limit you. The plot deals with humanity being taken over by Artificial Intelligent Machines. A small group of humans have been in a battle against the machines to reclaim earth and reality. The Machines have destroyed the real world, and created a simulation of the real world that only exist in the minds of those who are plugged into the Matrix. The matrix is the name of the simulated world. Those who have not been freed from the Matrix, believes everything they see, do, touch and feel is real. There remains one human city where the Machines haven’t conquered. This city is located deep underground and is called by the name of Zion. Those who are freed or unplugged from the Matrix, reside in the city of Zion. This is what the movie is about in short.
4. Into The Wild
image – http://www.imdb.com
It plays on the whole notion of an individual’s role in society. Chris realizes by entering the wild that he is stripped of all the weight of the world and his problems, because in the wild, there is no structure; there are no rules, laws, authorities, etc. It was bliss- just him and nature. It allowed him to see the world in a whole new way, that maybe all these things that we believe are so important to us (i.e money, good career, going to college, buying a beautiful house,) the materialistic and worldly desires, aren’t so important after all. It is all a distraction, an external one in which we ourselves can’t really see the true meaning of life when we have all these distractions. By entering the wild with little to no protection he finds his true happiness within his strong relationship with nature. In the end he is at peace with himself (which can be argued), is all that is really needed to fulfill one’s life. answers.yahoo.com

With Avatar, Cameron has delivered a fast-paced fantasy adventure that weaves together a stream of powerful themes that are so important to our modern world that they extend far beyond the world of fictional film: Issues like corporations destroying nature for profit, the lack of respect for living creatures, and the failed policies of “military diplomacy” that the USA continues to pursue. The themes in Avatar reflect the greatest challenges of our modern world, and the message of Avatar is both deeply moving and highly relevant to the future of human civilization. – naturalnews.com

The message in 1984 was that the type of government portrayed will never be a benefit to society. It takes away all individuality both in people’s thinking and actions. It requires all people to be exactly alike so as to please the government and to stay within the prescribed constructs. It, also, can creates divisions between people with a sense of insecurity and suspicion. enotes.com

The film follows John Preston (Bale), a warrior-priest and enforcement officer in a future dystopia where both feelings and artistic expression are outlawed and citizens take daily injections of drugs to suppress their emotions. After accidentally missing a dose, Preston begins to experience emotions which make him question his own morality and moderate his actions, while attempting to remain undetected by the suspicious society in which he lives. Ultimately, he aids a resistance movement using advanced martial arts, which he was taught serving the very regime he is helping to overthrow.

When one is successful, one does not have the time and patience to look back or forward. Dan is leading his life in chase of a dream.
10. American History X
image – http://www.imdb.com
American X may confront uneasy truths, but it arrives at its brutal end via manipulated, often hackneyed means, making the lesson it carries a forced take-away, rather than the deftly told cautionary tale it could have been, had it trusted us to draw conclusions on our own.
With so much misinformation out there about food and how it affects human health, making healthy food choices for you and your family can be difficult and confusing. There are a number of specific foods; however, that you will want to avoid in almost every circumstance because they provide virtually no health benefits while posing plenty of health risks.
Here are nine foods you should never eat again if you care about preserving your long-term health:
White bread, refined flours.
By definition, white bread and refined flours in general are toxic for your body because they have been stripped of virtually all vitamins, minerals, fiber, and other important nutrients. Because of this, the body does not know how to properly digest and assimilate these so-called foods, which can lead to health problems. Refinedwhite flour has also been bleached with chlorine and brominated with bromide, two poisonous chemicals that have been linked to causing thyroid and organ damage. (http://drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/BREAD.htm)
Conventional frozen meals.
Most conventionally-prepared frozen meals are loaded with preservatives, processed salt, hydrogenated oils and other artificial ingredients, not to mention the fact that most frozen meals have been heavily pre-cooked, rendering their nutrient content minimal at best (especially after getting microwaved again at home). With the exception of a few truly healthy frozen meal brands such as Amy’s and Organic Bistro, most frozen meals are little more than disease in a box, so avoid them in favor of fresh foods. (http://www.4us2be.com)
Like white bread, white rice has been stripped of most of its nutrients, and separated from the bran and germ, two natural components that make up rice in its brown form. Even so-called “fortified” white rice is nutritionally deficient, as the body still processes this refined food much differently than brown rice, which is absorbed more slowly and does not cause the same spike in blood sugar that white rice does. (http://globalnaturopath.com)
This processed food is a favorite among moviegoers and regular snackers alike, but it is one of the unhealthiest foods you can eat. Practically every component of microwaveable popcorn, from the genetically-modified (GM) corn kernels to the processed salt and preservative chemicals used to enhance its flavor, is unhealthy and disease-promoting. On top of this, microwaveable popcorn contains a chemical known as diacetyl that can actually destroy your lungs. If you love popcorn, stick with organic kernels that you can pop yourself in a kettle and douse with healthy ingredients like coconut oil, grass-fed butter, and Himalayan pink salt. (http://www.naturalnews.com)
Cured meat products with nitrates, nitrites.
Deli meats, summer sausage, hot dogs, bacon, and many other meats sold at the grocery store are often loaded with sodium nitrite and other chemical preservatives that have been linked to causing heart disease and cancer. If you eat meat, stick with uncured, nitrite and nitrate-free varieties, and preferably those that come from organic, grass-fed animals. (http://www.naturalnews.com/028824_processed_meat_heart_disease.html)
Most conventional protein, energy bars.
By the way they are often marketed, it might seem as though protein and energy bars are a strong addition to a healthy diet. But more often than not, these meal replacements contain processed soy protein, refined sugar, hydrogenated fat, and other harmful additives that contribute to chronic illness. Not all protein and energy bars are bad, of course — Thunderbird Energetica, Organic Food Bar, Boku Superfood, Vega Sport, PROBAR, and Zing all make healthy protein and energy bars. Just be sure to read the ingredient labels and know what you are buying.
Hidden in all sorts of processed foods, margarine, a hydrogenated trans-fat oil, is something you will want to avoid at all costs for your health. Contrary to popular belief, butter and saturated fats in general are not unhealthy, especially when they are derived from pastured animals that feed on grass rather than corn and soy. And if animal-based fats are not for you, stick with extra-virgin coconut oil or olive oil rather than margarine.
Soy milk and soy-based meat substitutes.
One of the biggest health frauds of modern times, the soy craze is a fad that you will want to skip. Besides the fact that nearly all non-organic soy ingredients are of GM origin, most soy additives are processed using a toxic chemical known as hexane, which is linked to causing birth defects, reproductive problems, and cancer. Soy that has not been fermented is also highly estrogenic, which can throw your natural hormone balance out of whack. (http://www.naturalnews.com/026303_soy_protein_hexane.html)
Many so-called “diet” products on the market today contains artificial sweeteners like aspartame (Equal) and sucralose (Splenda), both of which are linked to causing neurological damage, gastrointestinal problems, and endocrine disruption. Many diet products also contain added chemical flavoring agents to take the place of fat and other natural components that have been removed to artificially reduce calorie content. Instead, stick with whole foods that are as close to nature as possible, including high-fat foods grown the way nature intended, and your body will respond surprisingly well. What Love means to a 4-8 year old
A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, ’What does love mean?’ The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined
See what they think:
‘When my grandmother got arthritis , she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore.. So my grandfather does it for her all the time , even when his hands got arthritis too. That’s love.’ – Rebecca, age 8
‘When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.’ – Billy, age 4 (in my opinion this one is the best ever).
‘Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.’ – Karl, age 5
‘Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.’ –Chrissy, age 6
‘Love is what makes you smile when you’re tired.’ -Terri, age 4
‘Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him , to make sure the taste is OK.’ – Danny, age 7
‘Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing , you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss’ – Emily, age 8
‘Love is what’s in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.’ –Bobby, age 7
‘If you want to learn to love better , you should start with a friend who you hate” –Nikka, age 6
‘Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt , then he wears it everyday.’ –Noelle, age 7
‘Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.’ –Tommy, age 6
‘During my piano recital , I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn’t scared anymore.’ – Cindy, age 8
‘My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don’t see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.’ –Clare, age 6
‘Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.’ –Elaine, age 5
‘Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.’ –Chris, age 7
‘Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.’ -Mary Ann, age 4
‘I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.’ –Lauren, age 4
‘When you love somebody , your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.’ – Karen, age 7
‘Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn’t think it’s gross.’ –Mark, age 6
‘You really shouldn’t say ‘I love you’ unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.’ –Jessica, age 8 (…good point )
And the final one — Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge.
The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.
The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, ‘Nothing , I just helped him cry’.
(So now, what love means to you? May you post your own answers here? If you have a kid, ask him/her and post his/her answer here too. Thanks!)

I can’t begin to stress the important of inner peace.
Inner peace is that mindset where one is in equilibrium. It’s that point where ones actions and thoughts are stable, and everything one does is done in a fluid and balanced way. It’s the point where one is in harmony with oneself and therefore is in harmony with the entire universe.
This is something we all should strive to pursue; because once inner peace is attained, life becomes a whole lot better.
Let your soul expand, let your heart reach out to others in loving and generous warmth, and great and lasting will be your joy, and all prosperity will come to you. -James Allen
Before we Begin
Before I begin to explain the actual process to attaining inner peace, it is important that you first prepare yourself. Understand these three things:
- Finding inner peace is not easy; it’s actually one of the most difficult things to find in life and you should be prepared for a challenge
- This is going to be a process, so be prepared for a slow but firm progression
- Inner peace can only be found if you are decisively ready to change yourself. So keep your mind open and be ready for some new experiences
How to find Inner Peace
Finally we are here. Follow these 5 strategies to find inner peace in your life:
1. Conquer your Thoughts
Thoughts determine our state of mind and therefore are directly correlated with our level of peace. This is why you should become very cautious over what you think and how you think. You must learn to weed all the unproductive and negative thoughts and replace them with more positive, peaceful ones.
It might seem odd or tedious at first but overtime this screening process will be very beneficial and will eventually come naturally.
We don’t live in a world of reality; we live in a world of perceptions. – Gerald J. Simmons
2. Accept the Unchangeable
There is no point in complaining or worrying about things you can’t change. This is one of the many reasons why people don’t have inner peace. They keep trying to change the unchangeable and therefore rather than gaining, they destroy their peace of mind.
This is why you must learn to be more accepting and find your limits in life. Only once you work in a boundary will you ever find true peace.
3. Work with the Flow
Working against the flow of things only brings stress and anxiety. Now this doesn’t mean that you stop being creative or imaginative but it simply means you don’t try to over force things.
Take everything one day at time and be patient with life. Use the pace of life to your advantage and work with it.
Flow with whatever may happen and let your mind be free. Stay centered by accepting whatever you are doing. This is the ultimate. – Zhuangzi
Simplification and peace go hand in hand. Our modern lives tend to get over cluttered and we have a tendency to end up doing a lot of unnecessary things.
Try to unclutter your life and only do what is truly important. This will not just make you feel good about yourself as you will be doing self-rewarding things but you will actually become more peaceful.
Our life is frittered away by detail… simplify, simplify. – Henry David Thoreau
5. Give Generously
I personally find this strategy the most beneficial. Giving is fundamental to attaining peace. When you give you forget your sense of self, and it is only when you forget your sense of self that you find true peace and attain harmony.
Give generously and you will become not just more peaceful, but you will in return receive more.
I have found that among its other
One day the Buddha was walking through a village. A very angry and rude young man came up and began insulting him. “You have no right teaching others,” he shouted. “You are as stupid as everyone else. You are nothing but a fake!”
The Buddha was not upset by these insults. Instead he asked the young man, “Tell me, if you buy a gift for someone, and that person does not take it, to whom does the gift belong?”
The young man was surprised to be asked such a strange question and answered, “It would belong to me, because I bought the gift.”
The Buddha smiled and said, “That is correct. And it is exactly the same with your anger. If you become angry with me and I do not get insulted, then the anger falls back on you. You are then the only one who becomes unhappy, not me. All you have done is hurt yourself.”
10 Herbs that Heal
In his recent program entitled Healing Hearts/Healing Nations: The Science of Peace and the Power of Prayer, Gregg Braden discussed how in the past we lost huge amounts of information from ancient spiritual traditions (when the library at Alexandria burned we lost at least 532,000 documents), and that there may be information in those traditions which could help us understand some of the mysteries of science. To this end he reported on three very interesting experiments. Gregg Braden started off as a scientist and engineer, before he began pursuing these larger questions.
The first experiment he reported was done by Dr.Vladimir Poponin, a quantum biologist. In this experiment, first a container was emptied (ie a vacuum was created within it), and then the only thing left in it were photons (particles of light).
They measured the distribution (ie the location) of the photons and found they were completely random inside the container. This was the expected result. Then some DNA was placed inside the container and the distribution (location) of the photons was remeasured. This time the photons were LINED UP in an ORDERED way and aligned with the DNA. In other words the physical DNA had an effect on the non-physical photons.
After that, the DNA was removed from the container, and the distribution of the photons was remeasured again. The photons REMAINED ORDERED and lined up where the DNA had been. What are the light particles connected to?
Gregg Braden says we are forced to accept the possibility that some NEW field of energy, a web of energy, is there and the DNA is communicating with the photons through this energy.
These were experiments done by the military. Leukocytes (white blood cells) were collected for DNA from donors and placed into chambers so they could be measure electrical changes. In this experiment, the donor was placed in one room and subjected to “emotional stimulation” consisting of video clips, which generated different emotions in the donor. The DNA was placed in a different room in the same building. Both the donor and his DNA were monitored and as the donor exhibited emotional peaks or valleys (measured by electrical responses), the DNA exhibited the IDENTICAL RESPONSES AT THE EXACT SAME TIME. There was no lag time, no transmission time. The DNA peaks and valleys EXACTLY MATCHED the peaks and valleys of the donor in time.
The military wanted to see how far away they could separate the donor from his DNA and still get this effect. They stopped testing after they separated the DNA and the donor by 50 miles and STILL had the SAME result. No lag time; no transmission time.
The DNA and the donor had the same identical responses in time. What can this mean?
Gregg Braden says it means that living cells communicate through a previously unrecognized form of energy. This energy is not affected by time and distance. This is a non-local form of energy, an energy that already exists everywhere, all the time.
The third experiment was done by the Institute of Heart Math and the paper that was written about this was titled: Local and Non local Effects of Coherent Heart Frequencies on Conformational Changes of DNA. (Disregard the title! The info is incredible.) This is the experiment that relates directly to the anthrax situation. In this experiment, some human placenta DNA (the most pristine form of DNA) was placed in a container from which they could measure changes in the DNA. Twenty-eight vials of DNA were given (one each) to 28 trained researchers. Each researcher had been trained how to generate and FEEL feelings, and they each had strong emotions.
What was discovered was that the DNA CHANGED ITS SHAPE according to the feelings of the researchers: 1. When the researchers FELT gratitude, love and appreciation, the DNA responded by RELAXING and the strands unwound. The length of the DNA became longer. 2. When the researchers FELT anger, fear, frustration, or stress, the DNA responded by TIGHTENING UP. It became shorter and SWITCHED OFF many of our DNA codes! If you’ve ever felt “shut down” by negative emotions, now you know why your body was equally shut down too. The shut down of the DNA codes was reversed and the codes were switched back on again when feelings of love, joy, gratitude and appreciation were felt by the researchers.
This experiment was later followed up by testing HIV positive patients. They discovered that feelings of love, gratitude and appreciation created 300,000 TIMES the RESISTANCE they had without those feelings. So here’s the answer to what can help you stay well, no matter what dreadful virus or bacteria may be floating around. Stay in feelings of joy, love, gratitude and appreciation!
These emotional changes went beyond the effects of electro-magnetics. Individuals trained in deep love were able to change the shape of their DNA. Gregg Braden says this illustrates a new recognized form of energy that connects all of creation.
This energy appears to be a TIGHTLY WOVEN WEB that connects all matter. Essentially we’re able to influence this web of creation through our VIBRATION.
It’s been peculiar all along; all this talk of the “Shift” and “Ascension” and such. Finally, it has become clear. The end of one cycle of the Mayan calendar symbolizes the end of a way of doing things. In fact, it represents the end of doing itself.
What have we all had in common over the last 2,000 years or so? Struggle, stress, straining, doing and effort. Now, spiritual Neptune has been traveling with newcomer Chiron for a few years now. They symbolize what is different.
Why is that? Well, since the astrological body, a Centaur named Chiron, which orbits between Saturn and Uranus, was first seen in 1977, it has stirred up the zodiac. In astrological terms, that means that it didn’t exist until then; it was born then. That subject is still up for much debate, but since Chiron has a lot to do with healing and new-age healing pretty much got its start around then, it warrants a deeper look. Especially since almost all people born between 1952 and 1989 have it in their birth charts opposite new age Uranus.
Chiron mainly represents the “wounded healer” and your destiny. People with strategically placed Chirons in their chart tend to make marvelous healers. Without a doubt, Chiron clearly shows astrologers much about a person’s way, or, if you will, their “Hero’s Journey” according to Australian Zane Stein, one of Chiron’s early chroniclers.
So, if you combine Neptune and Chiron, which are paired now, they pretty much represent the dawning of this new age in which we find ourselves. Yes, the news channels are smattered with all the fallout from the continual fight between Uranus and Pluto (99% vs. 1%), but subtler and quieter, these two revolutionary planets of Neptune and Chiron are whispering to us of a new way – a new way of being.
A new age cannot come along without a matching planetary construct – it just can’t. And, that is why it is obvious to suspect Neptune (the spiritual master) with Chiron (the healer.) All of a sudden, thousands of people are picking up the signal from the new collective and doing whatever they can to become Lightworkers. They’re not waiting anymore. They’re diving in and taking the risk, being guided from on high. And they know they are right; that’s the difference. We’re being fed the new archetypal pairing of Neptune and Chiron.
Neptune and Chiron have been the responsible forces that have emerged to the surface insisting on health care for all. The will not give up – humans cannot compete with these incredibly powerful universal forces. Besides health care, the significant symbol from all of this is that Neptune IN PISCES (its home) is insisting that we all treat each other as one. Oh my, that persistent Golden Rule again.
Pre-2012 was humanity’s youth which is coming to and end now. We can all feel it. Everywhere we look we see failure wherever old-school, bottom-line, me-first mentalities persist. The argument is over. The collective is convinced. Now, we have wonderful magazines like this one as just a small example of what we’ve become together and where we are headed.
Finally, the time has come for us all to stop identifying with being the “doer.” Just like Far Eastern religions focus upon the non-self; Jesus maintained (paraphrasing: “Of myself, I do nothing – it all comes through the Father) that He too was just a watcher.
Being identified with the doer is what has caused all of our problems and certainly has misled us to protect what is mythically “ours.”
This is why everything is changing – Neptune and Chiron. And they will keep traveling together for the next few years. I doubted a lot about what I had heard when people kept telling me of the coming importance of the date 12/21/12. I did the chart for that moment, and frankly, wasn’t impressed. It was not until a few months ago when someone came up with a birth time! 11:11:11 a.m. in Greenwich, England. Once I modified my charts for that moment, BOOM!, Chiron and Neptune were found right on the ascendant, or rising exactly on the Eastern horizon.
The phenomenal symbolism of such is too great for reason or coincidence. Then I knew the Mayans (or whomever had taught them) were right on track. In fact, that moment is only off by 37 seconds to the moment of the Winter Solstice.
So, what does all of this mean for us? It means the end of doing, that’s what. Of course, you’ll still go to work, to the store and work around the house. But, no longer can modern man live without being truly in touch with his or her true Source. That, it what Neptune and Chiron are busy bestowing upon us now – you can feel it.
It is apparent that “other beings” or guides know we are in trouble here on Gaia and they are lending more than a hand to help us out.
To truly understand how we need to deal with this, the following Sun sign guidance is recommended. Remember, we’ll be allowing life to come to us which is about 99.9999% different from all of these How-To books we’ve been reading all along about what we have to DO! We don’t have to DO anything, it has been given to us; like someone said, “Let go, and let God!”
ARIES – will have a hard time with this; it’s not in their nature. Their’s is to be totally identified with the doer. Aries identifies with what they have just accomplished. This will lead them astray unless they have outer planets significantly placed in the natal diagram or they discover what’s beyond the self-image. It can be done. Ram Dass, Joseph Campbell and James Hillman (all Rams) did it. Their pure sense of adventure can take this challenge on.
TAURUS – will also not have an easy time of it. The Bulls tendency to ground everything makes it very difficult for them to look up for their source. Taurus’ source is the earth and everything about it – not in this case. Taurus needs to allow life to come to them and settle naturally. They need to stop fighting to get everything exactly as they want. The guidance of the Holy Spirit is much, much wiser. Like the proverbial tree, they need to bend with changes so that they do not break. Taurus is tough, they can make it through storm.
GEMINI – You will see how the Neptune-Chiron challenge will come easier to the latter signs, but all signs certainly can be very successful with the new paradigm. Gemini, of course, will find all of the new ideas to be fascinating and interesting. That’s not the point. The point is (just like the brilliant Gemini David Hawkins pointed out) Gemini is obsessed with how the mind works. Upon further examination, they will realize that they truly are the watcherneed to simply watch life unfold in front of them. They’
CANCER – This is another sign that may not have it easy. Why? Because emotional comfort and safety is A#1 to this sign. Usually, that means fighting to keep people outside of their protective shell. Remember, however, the fight is over. Cancer needs to learn to trust that God was not lying when He said that All would be provided. That’s a big leap for the Crab. True safety lies not just within your family circle, its core lies in fusion with the God-center inside of you. If Cancer can get this, they can be wonderful leaders of this new “movement.” Seeing the whole planet as their family instead.
LEO – has a good shot at breaking through this new perspective. It all depends on whether they are completely glued to their own self-image. If they are, being God-centered will remain a foreign concept for them. Of all signs, the brilliant Sun shines through Leo; a wonderful hint that the source comes up from within. This presents us with a tricky situation: Leo needs to gain in confidence, yes, but the best way is to just allow the confidence to grow, to watch it. They need to use that inborn sense of royalty and just allow life to serve them.
VIRGO – So, we repeatedly see this concept of having to let go of the doer. No sign will have it harder that the workaholic of the zodiac, Virgo. Chiron puts so much pressure upon them to “be productive” that they can barely withstand any other thought – really. However, I’ve seen many Virgin’s make great spiritual progress in these areas. Remember, the perfect example of an “in tune” Virgo was Mother Teresa. She kept up her work, and diligently served the public (Chiron rules Virgo,) but don’t be confused, she never forgot where the efforts and healings were really coming from. The key to succeeding as a Virgo is to work, to work hard, to stay busy, but to never forget where your source lies. He is working through you.
This is why I say “allowing” this grace to come to you. There’s no way to go out and get it, or to hold it, or to capture it, or to multiply it. It is free, the cost is your ego. Allow God’s Grace and Guidance to come to you.
LIBRA – Here is another sign that may have difficulty with this transition. Why? Libra is a very highly intelligent sign, but, in general is mostly interested in what is happening socially, not up in the skies. If they have help in their natal chart, they can really go far, as Deepak Chopra has done. Libra is so obsessed with its social position and projects that outward. They believe everyone else is, too. But, this can be overcome because of their powerful minds and natural grace. Libra needs to allow life to come to them and not fight for social position, become too preoccupied with comparisons and keeping up with the Joneses. Social position is an illusion and now is the time to give up all illusions.
SCORPIO – If Scorps can get past the melodrama of their particular relationship, they can go very far with this new concept. Being ruled by powerful Pluto, Scorpios have natural deep intelligence and can sense their Source. Neil Young sings from his Muses. You can tell. Capable of being a great leader, this passionate sign only needs to calm down their cravings and see that if they do, life will satisfy their powerful desires. They must avoid the tendency of the spider attracting its prey intentionally, and shift that into simply allowing life to surprise them. They believe in magic.
SAGITTARIUS – This fun-filled sign is much deeper than most people think. They’re not always at play. Sag is the philosophical sign that is rarely caught without a book in hand. Their high minds naturally lead them to this same conclusion: life comes to us naturally. Not usually a sign of resistance, Sagittarius can easily open up and allow life to be what it is. They “go with the flow” with ease. Yet, being a fire sign, they naturally identify with being the doer. As with all signs, we all have something to learn. The Archer’s born ability to not take things too seriously will help them stay free of mental twists and cobwebs.
CAPRICORN – has a very hard time letting things go. Their natural impulse is to “make sure” about everything. And, deeply imbedded in such a motto is a natural mistrust of the natural world! How can one trust the world but always be straining to make sure everything works out? Capricorn must take its naturally strong senses of duty and responsibility and learn to relax. Do what you can, but use your inborn sense of reverence to get your own ego in perspective. Then, you should be ok. You are not your social role. Never underrate the Goat.
AQUARIUS – You can never tell with Aquarius; the unpredictable sign. Naturally brilliant and way ahead of their time, the Water-Bearer can crawl way out on just about any limb. The main problem with Aquarius is that they identify so much with ideas and their formulated theories. Although they might be correct, they mainly have to look deeply, beyond the mind to see that thoughts just happen, they are not theirs. We all say, “whenever the spirit moves you.” That’s the idea here. The spirit does the moving, not the mind. Aquarians natural love of mankind leads them easily past the ego to sharing successfully with the All.
As “A Course in Miracles” says: “Thoughts leave not their source.”
PISCES – This is THE sign that has a natural understanding of not being the doer. All of their life they usually have to pay the price; being called listless, non-ambitious and even weak-willed. Pisces native archetype is to be one with it all. They never did understand competition and greed. They’ve been waiting for the rest of us to catch up, i.e., unless they got lost via escapism and are simply lost. For the most part, Pisces is the age we are in. That is where Chiron and Neptune are presently residing. We would do well to follow their lead and just let things be and have faith. It’s not like we have a choice.© 2012 Rick DiClemente. Our body perceives:
Nervousness … Anxiety … Concern … Dizziness … … Tremors … Instability Irritability Lethargy … … … Problems Exhaustion short term memory … heart palpitations … Nausea … restlessness … Insomnia … Strange Dreams … Prolonged pressure and headaches … Visual disturbances Body ailments … and auditory … Ringing ears … Thyroid problems and throat … Cold feet … Dryness of the tongue … loss of words when talking … Feeling enormous energy that arises in the body followed by energy slumps … Feelings of Feeling grief … walk on water … Lost track of time …
Solar flares and photon waves affect the central nervous system, brain activity (including equilibrium), along with human behavior and psychophysiological responses (mental, emotional, physical) …
Our emotions are low frequency energy (past experiences and traumas we have experienced and we have not processed) stored in our cells. Solar flares and photon waves have a powerful effect on our cells, causing them to awaken our cellular memory.
Photon energy is an energy frequency rises much higher than the lower emotional frequency: Now we are releasing emotions of sadness and pain.
Solar flares are breaking old patterns that are no longer needed for new patterns may emerge, which can make us feel restless and exhausted at the same time.
We are pushed or pulled to make changes in our lives …
Photon energy connects to our thoughts, so it is important that we know what we want, otherwise, we will manifest what they do not want.
Simple Tips for Living Well
The release of energy stored in atoms, molecules and cells generates clearances.
For now, it is important to reduce and clean up those spaces for general wellness.
Here are some simple tips:
1. – Download and listen to music of Johann Sebastian Bach:
You can hear it in your workplace, in your car, at home …
It helps to unblock and cleanse the difficult situations that we are living in the environment.

For one’s own self is one’s friend and one’s own self is one’s enemy.”
When the movie The Secret came out, it introduced the concept of manifesting to the masses. Suddenly people were walking about thinking, “positive thoughts, positive thoughts!”. However, The Secret is just the tip of the iceberg. Those who stopped at this level of manifesting never had a chance to discover their true potential in just how they could create their own universe. In this video, I’m going to share my experiences in discovering the different levels of manifesting that go beyond the Secret and mere “Positive Thinking”
What are the 5 Levels?
- Mild Awareness
- Specific Intent
- Release of Past Programming
- State of Allowing
- Personal Bubble of Reality
In this video, I’ll explain the 5 levels and how they relate to some of the most popular books and teachers in the mind-power genre.
Why did the chicken cross the road?
PLATO: For his sake was he went in search of good and harmony .. Across the road is the truth.
ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of the chicken crossing the road.
KARL MARX: It was physically inevitable.
HIPOCRATES He crossed the road because of excessive secretions in the pancreas.
MARTIN LUTHER KING JR: I had a dream where all chickens were free to cross a road without having to justify their actions!
MOSES: And God came down from the mountain and said to the chicken, ‘cross the road’. So the chicken crossed the road and saw that it was a good act.
RICHARD M. NIXON: The chicken did not cross the road, I repeat, the chicken did not cross the road ever.
NICCOLO MACHIAVELLI: The important thing is that the chicken crossed the road. Who care why? Only the intent to cross the road justifies any reason it would have had.
SIGMUND FREUD: The fact that you worry about why the chicken crossed the road reveals your strong sense of latent sexual insecurity.
BUDDHA: Asking such thing (why the chicken crossed the road) is to deny your own chicken nature.
GALILEO: And yet he did (crossed the road).
BILL CLINTON: I swear on the constitution that nothing happened between chicken and me.
NEO (Matrix): The chicken does not exist.
DARWIN: Over long periods of time, the chickens have been naturally selected in this way so thwy are genetically disposed to cross roads.
EINSTEIN: The fact that it is the chicken crossing the road or is the road that moves beneath the chicken depends. Is relative to the benchmark.
ZEN: The chicken can cross the road in vain, only the Master knows the sound of her shadow behind the wall.
STALIN: You have to shoot the chicken immediately, and also the witnesses of the scene and 10 people chosen at random for failing to prevent that act of crossing the road.
FIDEL CASTRO: The chicken is a deserter for crossing the road but he shall regret it seeing injustices across the road. Then the chicken will come back again and believe me he will do it in tame.
6 of June 2012
An amazing energetic occurrence is happening June 5 and 6, 2012. It’s the last Venus Transit of our lifetime – there won’t be another one until 2117. A Venus Transit is among the rarest of planetary alignments, occurring as a pair spaced 8 years apart every 120 years or so. Venus will move directly in front of the Sun and in line with Earth, “transiting” across it and by doing so, opening an energ…etic portal with tremendous opportunity for humanity.
When the resonances of Venus are highly focused upon Earth, its energy inspires a new level of intuitive awareness that permeates and spreads through our consciousness. This transit will create a powerful opportunity to realize the
authentic desires of your heart. ~ Sunny Dawson, taken from facebook page of Kevin Brodeur
The Meaning of Venus
If you do not know any astrology, that’s no problem, you can read this, for I will be describing things in layman’s terms.
Venus is an Earth or Earthy planet. This much must be understood at the beginning. So what she delivers (or takes away) is manifestly and concretely felt. You can hold it, celebrate it and use it. Venus seeks gratification, pleasure and fulfilment. She will give affirmation and success in war or love because her aim is to manifest it …….to make it happen – whatever that is. Venus understands the beauty of form, possession and manifestation.
She is useful in practical and everyday living for protection, power and support. She supports aspiration, success and achievement in LIFE. To the Egyptians, her symbol, the ankh, was known as the Giver of Life.
The Meaning of the Sun
This is the energy storehouse of our existence. The Sun’s immense nuclear and spiritual power fuels our lives from within and without. Many ancient and not-so-ancient cultures believed that the Sun was the source of all Spirit. It is the heart and ruler of our Solar System and it controls all life with the heat that warms and the energy (calories) that emanate from it both invisibly and visibly. So the Sun gives light and invisible power.
What do They Mean Together?
On the surface of it, together they mean something very successful and powerful, but on this occasion they might just SAVE THE PLANET! Sort of a cosmic Superman and Superwoman actually. For if you haven’t noticed, Earth is in trouble and we need a miracle. We are heavily over-populated and we are indulging in massive over-consumerism. Debt has fuelled over-inflation and the over-consumption of our planets raw materials. In short, we have been asleep in the wheelhouse of the Titanic for the last two decades and now we need a miracle! So hopefully, this Venus Transit can deliver one…… > http://www.midlandsschoolofastrology.co.uk/

To be continue…
Rise with the sun to pray. Pray alone. Pray often.
The Great Spirit will listen, if you only speak.
Be tolerant of those who are lost on their path.
Ignorance, conceit, anger, jealousy and greed stem
from a lost soul. Pray that they will find guidance.
Search for yourself, by yourself. Do not allow others
to make your path for you. It is your road, and
yours alone. Others may walk it with you,
but no one can walk it for you.
Treat the guests in your home with much consideration.
Serve them the best food, give them the best
bed and treat them with respect and honor.
Do not take what is not yours whether from
a person, a community,the wilderness or from a
culture. It was not earned nor given. It is not yours.
Respect all things that are placed upon
this earth – whether it be people or plant.
Honor other people’s thoughts, wishes and words.
Never interrupt another or mock or rudely mimic them.
Allow each person the right to personal expression.
Never speak of others in a bad way. The negative
energy that you put out into the universe
will multiply when it returns to you.
All persons make mistakes.
And all mistakes can be forgiven.
Bad thoughts cause illness of the mind,
body and spirit. Practice optimism.
Nature is not FOR us, it is a PART of us.
They are part of your worldly family.
Children are the seeds of our future. Plant
love in their hearts and water them with
wisdom and life’s lessons. When they
are grown, give them space to grow.
Avoid hurting the hearts of others.
The poison of your pain will return to you.
Be truthful at all times. Honesty is the
test of one’s will within this universe.
Keep yourself balanced. Your Mental self, Spiritual
self, Emotional self, and Physical self – all need
to be strong, pure and healthy. Work out
the body to strengthen the mind. Grow
rich in spirit to cure emotional ails.
Make conscious decisions as to who
you will be and how you will react. Be
responsible for your own actions.
Respect the privacy and personal space of
others. Do not touch the personal property of
others – especially sacred and religious
objects. This is forbidden.
Be true to yourself first. You cannot
nurture and help others if you cannot
nurture and help yourself first.
Respect others religious beliefs.
Do not force your belief on others.
Share your good fortune with others.
Participate in charity.
It is no surprise that gold symbolizes wealth used wisely, but it is also the symbol of good health. People who favor the color gold are optimistic.
The tibetan Buddhist believes in 5 sacred stones: the crystal for light, turquoise for infinity of sea and sky, coral for life and form, gold for the golden ray of the sun, silver for the light of the moon. Gold is intimately linked with Divinity and those gods associated with the Sun. It symbolizes wealth and success.
Put some gold in your life when you want:
- increased personal power
- relaxation and enjoyment of life
- good health
Indigo is the color of the deep midnight sky. It can have a negative effect when used during a depressed state, because it will deepen the mood. Indigo symbolizes a mystical borderland of wisdom, self-mastery and spiritual realization. While blue is the color of communication with others, indigo turns the blue inward, to increase personal thought, profound insights, and instant understandings. While blue can be fast, Indigo is almost instantaneous. Inventors use indigo skills for inspirations that seem to ‘come out of the blue’.
Put some indigo in your life when you want:
- to focus on personal issues
- to develop intuition
- to step outside of everyday life for a new and interesting way of viewing a problem
- solitude and inner communication
Pink is a combination of red and white. The quality of energy in pink is determined by how much red is present. White is the potential for fullness, while red helps you to achieve that potential. Pink combines these energies. Shades of deep pink, such as magenta, are effective in neutralizing disorder and violence. Some prisons use limited deep pink tones to diffuse aggressive behaviour.
Pink provides feelings of caring, tenderness, self-worth and love, acceptance.
Put some pink in your life when you want:
- calm feelings
- to neutralize disorder
- acceptance, contentment
Pink gemstones can be used to promote love, self-worth, order and protection from violence or aggression. Carry or place pink gemstones around your home or office to stimulate love and beauty.
Green is the color of nature, fertility, life. Grass green is the most restful color. Green symbolizes self-respect and well being. Green is the color of balance. It also means learning, growth and harmony. Green is a safe color, if you don’t know what color to use anywhere use green.
Green is favored by well balanced people. Green symbolizes the master healer and the life force. It often symbolizes money. It was believed green was healing for the eyes. Egyptians wore green eyeliner. Green eyeshades are still used. You should eat raw green foods for good health. Friday is the day of green. Green jade is a sacred stone of Asia.
Green contains the powerful energies of nature, growth, desire to expand or increase. Balance and a sense of order are found in the color green. Change and transformation is necessary for growth, and so this ability to sustain changes is also a part of the energy of green.
Put some green in your life when you want:
- a new state of balance
- feel a need for change or growth
- freedom to pursue new ideas
- protection from fears and anxieties connected with the demands of others
Green gemstones are used to attract money, prosperity and wealth. They are balancing stones that promote growth and fertility. Carry, wear or place green gemstones around your home or office to promote balance, change and growth.
I was doing some research today about the feng shoui and the importance of color. I bumped in to nice explanation of how different colors are impacting our performance and our moods. Hope you will find it interesting as I did. As always enjoy the read and share it with your friends. 🙂
Strictly speaking, white is not a color, but the manifestation of the presence of all color – the complete energy of light. It stands for wholeness and completion. In many cultures it represents openness and truth. White has a cold quality. It can provide clarity as its energy is complete.
White has purification vibrations and can be used to clear blocks from your path.
It holds the potential to move toward every other color and this makes it a good choice for new beginnings, and development in any direction.
Put some white in your life when you want:
- to clear clutter and obstacles away
- to start a fresh beginning
- to bring about mental clarity
- purification of thoughts or actions
- to become inconspicuous
- to open the door to mystery
- to prepare for the unknown
- a restful emptiness
Black gemstones symbolize self control and resilience. Black stones have protective energies in the sense that black is the absence of light, and therefore, can be used to create invisibility.
Red is the warmest of all colors. Red is the color most chosen by extroverts and one of the top picks of males. On the negative side red can mean temper or anger. In China, red is the color of prosperity and joy. Brides wear red and front doors are often painted red. Though Reds have become more and more popular over the last couple of years and can range from fiery, passionate, sophisticated and warm, reds can also be overpowering and lead to headaches. It is a good idea to vary the shade of red on one wall or just use it for accessories. Reds should never be used in a baby’s room. Red is Tuesday’s color. Associated with: Danger, passion, energy, warmth, adventure and optimism.
Red is associated with fiery heat and warmth. It can also mean danger (burning).
Red is the color of blood, and as such has strong symbolism as life and vitality. It brings focus to the essence of life and living with emphasis on survival. Red is also the color of passion and lust.
Put some red in your life when you want:
- increased enthusiasm and interest
- more energy
- action and confidence to go after your dreams
- protection from fears and anxieties
Red gemstones can be used to strengthen the body, promote will power and courage, add vitality, overcome sexual dysfunctions. Carry or place red gemstones around your home or office to stimulate vitality and energy.
Orange is a power color. It is one of the healing colors. It is said to increase the craving for food. It also stimulates enthusiasm and creativity. Orange means vitality with endurance. People who like orange are usually thoughtful and sincere. Lady luck’s color is orange. I have been told that if a change of any kind is need in life, just burn an orange candle for 7 nights.
While red is associated with fiery heat, orange is associated with the benign warmth of the sun. A dynamic color to be sure, orange offers a more thoughtful control than explosive red. Curiosity is a driving characteristic of orange, and with it comes exploration of new things.
Put some orange in your life when you want:
- to spice things up when you feel time is dragging
- to become more involved in something
- to increase creativity
- relief from things becoming too serious
Orange gemstones contain some of the fiery energies of red, but are gentler with a more creative spirit. They are used to promote personal power and are useful for people who could use more self esteem. Carry or place orange gemstones around your home or office to stimulate creativity, mental quickness, ability to adjust to changes.
Carlos Barrios, a Mayan Elder is a ceremonial priest and spiritual guide of the Eagle Clan. What follows are his insights:
“Anthropologists visit the temple sites and read the inscriptions and make up stories about the Maya, but they do not read the signs correctly. It’s just their imagination. Other people write about prophecy in the name of the Maya. They say that the world will end in December 2012. The Mayan elders are angry with this. The world will not end. It will be transformed.
We are no longer in the world of the Fourth Sun, but we are not yet in the world of the Fifth Sun. This is the time in-between, the time of transition. As we pass through transition there is a colossal, global convergence of environmental destruction, social chaos, war, and ongoing earth changes.
Humanity will continue but in a different way. Material structures will change. From this we will have the opportunity to be more human. We are living in the most important era of the Mayan calendars and prophecies. All the prophecies of the world, all the traditions are converging now. There is no time for games. The spiritual ideal of this era is action.
The Indigenous have the calendars and know how to accurately interpret it – not others. The Mayan Calendars comprehension of time, seasons and cycles has proven itself to be vast and sophisticated.
All was predicted by the mathematical cycles of the Mayan calendars. It will change – everything will change. Mayan Day-keepers view the December 21st, 2012 date as a rebirth, the start of the world of the Fifth Sun. It will be the start of a new era resulting from and most signified by the solar meridian crossing the galactic equator and the earth aligning itself with the centre of the galaxy.
At sunrise on December 21st, 2012 for the first time in 26,000 years the Sun rises to conjunct the intersection of the Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic. This cosmic cross is considered to be an embodiment of the Sacred Tree. The Tree of Life, a tree remembered in all the world’s spiritual traditions.”
Carlos reminds us this is a crucial moment for humanity and for earth. He said the Elders have opened the doors so that other races can come to the Mayan world to receive the tradition. He goes on to say, “The Mayans have long appreciated and respected that there are other colours, other races, and other spiritual systems. They know that the destiny of the Mayan world is related to the destiny of the whole world.
The greatest wisdom is in simplicity. Love, respect, tolerance, sharing, gratitude, forgiveness. It is not complex or elaborate. The real knowledge is free. It’s encoded in your DNA. All you need is within you. Great teachers have said that from the beginning. Find your heart, and you will find your way.”

“Take chances, take a lot of them. Because honestly, no matter where you end up and with whom, it always ends up just the way it should be. Your mistakes make you who you are. Learn and grow with each choice you make. Everything is worth it. Say how you feel, always. Be you and be ok with it.”
Learn Spring Forest Qigong for Free – Learning Strategies will soon be streaming Chunyi Lin’s Spring Forest Qigong course for free via the Internet. The broadcast will be spread over 6 days and begins on March 12, 2012.
Qi, also known as chi, is life energy. Qigong is an Eastern energy healing practice which seeks to correct imbalances in this energy. Whether you believe in this idea or not, peer-reviewed studies have concluded that qigong practice has a positive effect on immune function, bone density, cardiovascular health, and many other health indicators. Some people interpret qi (or chi) as the sum of various biological processes, so the divide between the Eastern and Western viewpoints may be largely a matter of semantics. There’s agreement on the results, which can be measured, but different doctors disagree on how to explain these results.
I listened to the complete Spring Forest Qigong program in 2006. I liked it, but I decided not to recommend it on my website at the time. Since I didn’t have anything physical to heal, I couldn’t personally validate the physical healing aspects of the program.
Since then I’ve practiced qigong a few times with Chunyi in person at retreats we’ve attended. I love his peaceful energy and his sense of humor, and I have friends who swear by qigong’s benefits. Dr. Deepak Chopra has also endorsed Spring Forest Qigong.
Due to my limited experiences with qigong, I don’t feel good about giving it my personal recommendation. However, since Learning Strategies is now broadcasting Spring Forest Qigong for free, I thought it would be worthwhile to share this, so that those who are interested can see if they find it beneficial.
from Steve Palina newsletter
This is a real story. A man sat at a metro station in Washington DC and started to play the violin; it was a cold January morning. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, since it was rush hour, it was calculated that 1,100 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.
Three minutes went by, and a middle aged man noticed there was musician playing. He slowed his pace, and stopped for a few seconds, and then hurried up to meet his schedule.
A minute later, the violinist received his first dollar tip: a woman threw the money in the till and without stopping, and continued to walk.
A few minutes later, someone leaned against the wall to listen to him, but the man looked at his watch and started to walk again. Clearly he was late for work.
The one who paid the most attention was a 3 year old boy. His mother tagged him along, hurried, but the kid stopped to look at the violinist. Finally, the mother pushed hard, and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. All the parents, without exception, forced them to move on.
In the 45 minutes the musician played, only 6 people stopped and stayed for a while. About 20 gave him money, but continued to walk their normal pace. He collected $32. When he finished playing and silence took over, no one noticed it. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.
No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the most talented musicians in the world. He had just played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, on a violin worth $3.5 million dollars.
Two days before his playing in the subway, Joshua Bell sold out at a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100.
This is a real story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste, and priorities of people. The outlines were: in a commonplace environment at an inappropriate hour: Do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize the talent in an unexpected context?
One of the possible conclusions from this experience could be:
If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?
We humans tend to get very comfortable with our circumstances. Change is always hard so staying the same often sounds like a great choice. However not changing some things can lead to stagnation, which leads to unhappiness and boredom. Here are ten things that you could/should re-examine to keep yourself up to date and away from stagnation (in no particular order).
1. Sleep Schedule
Are you happy with how early you are going to bed or late your are waking up? Sleep cycles are one of the most difficult things to break because that snooze button just wants to get smacked. Taking control of your sleep cycle can make you better rested and more productive. You sleep for 1/3 of your life so you might as well do it efficiently!
Set a time that you want to wake up each morning. Tell yourself that you will wake up at that time (setting your biological alarm). Set a real alarm and practice getting up right when it goes off. Don’t give yourself time to rationalize another hour or sleep! It won’t do you much good anyways as you won’t be able to get into REM sleep fast enough. At night, simply go to bed when you feel tired. Your body knows how much sleep it needs so stay strict on waking up and sleep only when you feel like you should.
What do you want in the next week? The next year? The next 5 years? You need to know what you want if you want to accurately appropriate your time to different activities. Figure out what your priorities so that you can figure out if you are on track at actually reaching your goals.
3. How You Spend Your Time
After you have figure out what you want, you need to figure out how you should spend yout time in order achieve your goals. It’s very easy to get stuck in the habit of doing something too often that does not put you any closer those goals. Yes, fun-time is REQUIRED or you will go insane but make sure you aren’t overindulging and leaving your real desires in the dust. Many people also spend too much time working towards their goals. Get the job done but don’t sacrifice your family, friends or health to do so.
Write or type-out a concise agenda for the day with approximation for how long you will spend on each activity. Obviously you should be flexible anything serendipitous or spontaneous occurs but try to stick to it. This takes the same type of comittment as waking up with your alarm clock so hopefully you can kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
You know from watching every movie and TV show EVER that friends are important. You are shaped by the people who you spend your time with. Tale a moment to analyze who your friends are. Do they support your goals, have a positive influence on your productivity, brim with optimism when you hang out? Or do they bring you down, doubt your ambitions and suck you into bad habits? Or maybe you have a friend or two that you have always spent time with but now you don’t share the same connection anymore. These are all variables that you need to weigh when deciding who your close friends should be.
This does not mean you need to kick friends that don’t make the cut out of your life. Simply try to choose wisely when apportioning time to different friends so that you spend your time with people that push you forward, not backwards.
Do you love what you do? Do you even like it? I surely hope so because that your job is what you have chosen to spend most of your week doing! This one’s easy: Ask yourself…
1. Do I like what I do for a living?
2. Does it provide me with enough money to satisfy my needs (and most of my wants)?
3. What I rather do for a job instead of what I do now?
If you answer “No, No” and have any answer for the third question, you should reconsider your job. Yes, I know the economy is tough right now so the idea of getting a new job is ludicrous… HOWEVER, if you already have a job, what’s the hurt in searching for a new one? Stay within the security of your current job and just see what else is out there. If you find something, apply and interview / start the company and you’ll be so much happier now that you’re passionate about what you do.
6. Physical Appearance
Even easier than the last one: Look in the mirror. Do you like your hair? Your skin? The way you dress? Ladies: Do you like your makeup? The way your legs look in those jeans?
Figure out what you don’t like and find a way to work towards changing it. For example:
Bad Skin –> Order skin treatment kit (ProActive, Neutrogena, etc.)
Yellow Teeth –> Buy whitening strips or schedule a whitening procedure at your dentist
Outdated Hair Style –> Go to a salon, ask what the stylist advises and pick a new dew
Flabby Arms –> Gym membership + start running around the block a couple of times every day
Most physical “problems” have very practical solutions that are often cheap too. Even changing small things about your physical appearance can result in a huge boost in confidence. No problem is too small.
7. Eating Habits
If you are an American, chances are you are out of shape (63% of Americans are overweight). It’s a disgusting statistic but a motivational one too. A big contributor to gaining extra fat is not eating well. All of that fast-food, microwavable sodium-traps and late-night treats take a tole on your physical appearance as well as on your overall health.
I’m all for eating the most tasty food you can find, but not everything that tastes good has to be unhealthy. Just try changing little things about your diet:
Whole Wheat Bread instead of White – flour mills use nitrogen oxide, chlorine, chloride, nitrosyl, benzoyl peroxide and various chemical salts as chemical bleaches to make the bread white
Drink water instead of soda – soda has absolutely no nutritional value, just sugar and sodium. Water, on the other hand, is required by your body to break food into energy
Cut out high fructose corn syrup completely – high in calories, zero nutrition
No Candy – again, high in sugar and calories and zero nutrition
Eat fruit when you are hungry instead of snacking – fruit is nature’s candy so pop some grapes instead of reaching for the Spicy Cheetos
Cut out unhealthy and unnecessary “additives” like ketchup, sugar, salt, cream, etc. – these are condiments, food that you add to other food. They are NOT necessary and are very unhealthy. Have you seen how much sodium is in ketchup? (A lot)
Avoid pasta, bread and rice as much as possible – white flour, refined sugar and white rice are digested so fast that they cause spikes in blood sugar and contribute to weight gain
8. Significant Other
At least for me, the person that can make me the most miserable (or happy) is the significant other. The girl/boyfriend/ spouse/ lover/ mistress, whatever you want to call him or her, usually has a big influence on your day-to-day. Unfortunately since love interests don’t grow on trees, we tend to get comfortable with who we’ve got even if we are far from happy. Being comfortable is not always a good thing!
Take a good, hard look at your relationship…
1. Write down the problems in your relationship that make you unhappy. Decide which ones you can fix by yourself and which you must talk to your partner about.
2. Discuss the problems with your partner without accusing them or placing blame and try to come up with a solution.
3. Also ask yourself these 3 super-important questions: Does he/she support my goals? Does he/she treat me with respect? Am I content sexually? “No” answers to any of these mean you need to fix something or you two won’t last much longer (without being miserable).
4. Get perspective. You may think that he/she is the best for you but try looking around at the other fish in the sea and comparing. This does not mean you should go experiment while in your relationship, just observe. Decide whether you want to continue trying to make it work with your significant other.
Do you spend enough time with your family? That is assuming you weren’t disowned or hold a deep hatred towards your kin. If you love them, show that you love them. As frustrating as family can be at times, you have to keep in mind that they love you more than anything. Even if your mom anoys the hell out of you and your father is constantly trying to convert you back to Catholicism, they still love you. Even one more day of family time a month can mean a lot them. Plus if you ever do need some love and support, they will be there for you instead of being bitter that you haven’t called in 2 years.
”Whatever your goal may be, if you create in your mind a clear image of the result you want and represent it to yourself as if you’ve already achieved it, then you will go into the kind of states that will support you in creating the results you desire…. you’re not just a leaf in the wind. You can control your beliefs. You can control the way you model others. You can consciously direct your life. You can change.”

When you stop chasing the wrong things you give
the right things a chance to catch you.
As Maria Robinson once said, “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” Nothing could be closer to the truth. But before you can begin this process of transformation you have to stop doing the things that have been holding you back.
Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Stop spending time with the wrong people. – Life is too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of you. If someone wants you in their life, they’ll make room for you. You shouldn’t have to fight for a spot. Never, ever insist yourself to someone who continuously overlooks your worth. And remember, it’s not the people that stand by your side when you’re at your best, but the ones who stand beside you when you’re at your worst that are your true friends.
- Stop running from your problems. – Face them head on. No, it won’t be easy. There is no person in the world capable of flawlessly handling every punch thrown at them. We aren’t supposed to be able to instantly solve problems. That’s not how we’re made. In fact, we’re made to get upset, sad, hurt, stumble and fall. Because that’s the whole purpose of living – to face problems, learn, adapt, and solve them over the course of time. This is what ultimately molds us into the person we become.
- Stop lying to yourself. – You can lie to anyone else in the world, but you can’t lie to yourself. Our lives improve only when we take chances, and the first and most difficult chance we can take is to be honest with ourselves. Read The Road Less Traveled.
- Stop putting your own needs on the back burner. – The most painful thing is losing yourself in the process of loving someone too much, and forgetting that you are special too. Yes, help others; but help yourself too. If there was ever a moment to follow your passion and do something that matters to you, that moment is now.
- Stop trying to be someone you’re not. – One of the greatest challenges in life is being yourself in a world that’s trying to make you likeeveryone else. Someone will always be prettier, someone will always be smarter, someone will always be younger, but they will never be you. Don’t change so people will like you. Be yourself and the right people will love the real you.
- Stop trying to hold onto the past. – You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading your last one.
- Stop being scared to make a mistake. – Doing something and getting it wrong is at least ten times more productive than doing nothing. Every success has a trail of failures behind it, and every failure is leading towards success. You end up regretting the things you did NOT do far more than the things you did.
- Stop berating yourself for old mistakes. – We may love the wrong person and cry about the wrong things, but no matter how things go wrong, one thing is for sure, mistakes help us find the person and things that are right for us. We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past. But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles, and you are here NOW with the power to shape your day and your future. Every single thing that has ever happened in your life is preparing you for a moment that is yet to come.
- Stop trying to buy happiness. – Many of the things we desire are expensive. But the truth is, the things that really satisfy us are totally free – love, laughter and working on our passions.
- Stop exclusively looking to others for happiness. – If you’re not happy with who you are on the inside, you won’t be happy in a long-term relationship with anyone else either. You have to create stability in your own life first before you can share it with someone else. Read Stumbling on Happiness.
- Stop being idle. – Don’t think too much or you’ll create a problem that wasn’t even there in the first place. Evaluate situations and take decisive action. You cannot change what you refuse to confront. Making progress involves risk. Period! You can’t make it to second base with your foot on first.
- Stop thinking you’re not ready. – Nobody ever feels 100% ready when an opportunity arises. Because most great opportunities in life force us to grow beyond our comfort zones, which means we won’t feel totally comfortable at first.
- Stop getting involved in relationships for the wrong reasons. – Relationships must be chosen wisely. It’s better to be alone than to be in bad company. There’s no need to rush. If something is meant to be, it will happen – in the right time, with the right person, and for the best reason. Fall in love when you’re ready, not when you’re lonely.
- Stop rejecting new relationships just because old ones didn’t work. – In life you’ll realize that there is a purpose for everyone you meet. Some will test you, some will use you and some will teach you. But most importantly, some will bring out the best in you.
- Stop trying to compete against everyone else. – Don’t worry about what others doing better than you. Concentrate on beating your own records every day. Success is a battle between YOU and YOURSELF only.
- Stop being jealous of others. – Jealousy is the art of counting someone else’s blessings instead of your own. Ask yourself this: “What’s something I have that everyone wants?”
- Stop complaining and feeling sorry for yourself. – Life’s curveballs are thrown for a reason – to shift your path in a direction that is meant for you. You may not see or understand everything the moment it happens, and it may be tough. But reflect back on those negative curveballs thrown at you in the past. You’ll often see that eventually they led you to a better place, person, state of mind, or situation. So smile! Let everyone know that today you are a lot stronger than you were yesterday, and you will be.
- Stop holding grudges. – Don’t live your life with hate in your heart. You will end up hurting yourself more than the people you hate. Forgiveness is not saying, “What you did to me is okay.” It is saying, “I’m not going to let what you did to me ruin my happiness forever.” Forgiveness is the answer… let go, find peace, liberate yourself! And remember, forgiveness is not just for other people, it’s for you too. If you must, forgive yourself, move on and try to do better next time.
- Stop letting others bring you down to their level. – Refuse to lower your standards to accommodate those who refuse to raise theirs.
- Stop wasting time explaining yourself to others. – Your friends don’t need it and your enemies won’t believe it anyway. Just do what you know in your heart is right.
- Stop doing the same things over and over without taking a break. – The time to take a deep breath is when you don’t have time for it. If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting. Sometimes you need to distance yourself to see things clearly.
- Stop overlooking the beauty of small moments. – Enjoy the little things, because one day you may look back and discover they were the big things. The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.
- Stop trying to make things perfect. – The real world doesn’t reward perfectionists, it rewards people who get things done. Read Getting Things Done.
- Stop following the path of least resistance. – Life is not easy, especially when you plan on achieving something worthwhile. Don’t take the easy way out. Do something extraordinary.
- Stop acting like everything is fine if it isn’t. – It’s okay to fall apart for a little while. You don’t always have to pretend to be strong, and there is no need to constantly prove that everything is going well. You shouldn’t be concerned with what other people are thinking either – cry if you need to – it’s healthy to shed your tears. The sooner you do, the sooner you will be able to smile again.
- Stop blaming others for your troubles. – The extent to which you can achieve your dreams depends on the extent to which you take responsibility for your life. When you blame others for what you’re going through, you deny responsibility – you give others power over that part of your life.
- Stop trying to be everything to everyone. – Doing so is impossible, and trying will only burn you out. But making one person smile CAN change the world. Maybe not the whole world, but their world. So narrow your focus.
- Stop worrying so much. – Worry will not strip tomorrow of its burdens, it will strip today of its joy. One way to check if something is worth mulling over is to ask yourself this question: “Will this matter in one year’s time? Three years? Five years?” If not, then it’s not worth worrying about.
- Stop focusing on what you don’t want to happen. – Focus on what you do want to happen. Positive thinking is at the forefront of every great success story. If you awake every morning with the thought that something wonderful will happen in your life today, and you pay close attention, you’ll often find that you’re right.
- Stop being ungrateful. – No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs. Instead of thinking about what you’re missing, try thinking about what you have that everyone else is missing.

There are four simple steps which lead to habit of PERSISTENCE.
They call for no great amount of intelligance, no particular amount of education and but little time or effort.
The necessary steps are:
- A definite purpose backed by burning desire for its fulfillment
- A definite plan, expressed in continuous action
- A mind closed tightly against all negative suggestions of relatives, friends and acquaintances
- A friendly alliance with one or more persons who will encourage on to fallow through with both plan and purpose
